On March 3, 2009, Kristy Follmar (136 lbs) of Muncie, IN returned to the ring after a four year absence from competition with a 10 round unanimous decision over 44-year-old veteran and former IFBA and WIBF world bantamweight champion Eva Jones-Young (138 lbs) of South Bend, IN at the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis. Scores were 97-92, 97-93, and 98-92. This was for the vacant World Boxing Foundation Junior Welterweight title. Follmar is now 16-1 (9 KO's).
Jones-Young drops to 15-4-1 (she had an eight-year absence from competition following her loss to Michele Aboro in February 2000 and her only losses have been to top-flight boxers).
