Potentially a great match-up. Reid's been honest and said that it's the money which has swayed her to go to Germany, because she must know that unless she lands a knockout then the title will stay with Kentikian (not just because of biased judges, I hasten to say.) So can she do this? I don't think she can, to be honest; I have the impression that as a boxer she peaked some time ago whereas Susi is still learning, but learning fast. Susi maybe leaves herself open too much when she attacks, but her attack is so fast and hard that counter punches tend to be ineffective. Perhaps one answer is steadfast defence during the first few rounds, tire Susi (maybe unused to long bouts, though she has had some full ones) and then try to take advantage after round 6 or 7 or so?
I really don't know, though. Maybe those more expert than me can see the best plan she should take up.

Elena will give Susi all that she can handle and then some.

You think she can win?

Frankly, I'm not sure Reid is such a huge threat any more. Her latest results certainly haven't been that great; maybe her MMA fights just took some of her focus from boxing. If the 2004 version fought against Kentikian, it would be a whole different story. Also, Reid does not possess the one thing that really seems to trouble Kentikian: a clear height and reach advantage.

Roland,
Let me 'weigh in' on this matchup.
Unless Reid is training hard and looking at tapes of Kentikian and finding her weaknesses, if there are any, this will end up being a good match up, with Reid losing it by either a split or UD, unless she beats Kentikian within an inch of her life or knocks her out cold. LOL
It won't happen, even if it is in my wildest dreams.
Speaking of my wildest dreams, if it did happen, if I were Reid, I openly challenge Halmich right there at ringside to 'get it on' again, outside of Germany, if the money is right.
I told you my dreams were wild!

Nice dream - but I think Roland is probably right and Reid peaked a little while back. She has been less impressive recently - while Kentikian is still learning and improving. It should be a good fight and a good test for Susi though.

Dee,
From what Reid said to me at MySpace, she has been a 'gym rat' waiting for this opportunity to come and she claims she isn't going to waste the opportunity.
I wish her well and hope she pulls off the BIG upset most people say she hasn't got anything left in her to pull off, but it will certainly depend on how bad she wants it.

I hope she will put on a GREAT show! I felt she was slipping but this is definitely a BIG chance for her to prove she isn't.
