I've had a long day, guys. So, perhaps I won't be bringing my A game to my first thread on this board because my brain is still trying to process what I just watched.
Alicia Ashley defeated Lisa Brown. I do not feel that any "expert" can argue against this. Ashley outboxed her and was more aggressive throughout the fight. Sure, it wasn't Gatti-Ward; it was more like Wright-Hopkins, but that's the beauty of the sweet science. This was complete bull$#!+. After all the training that Alicia did to get ready for this fight, to have it stolen from her like this is plain wrong.
Another irritation was the way the show ended, with John Salley saying that the decision completely turned him off from boxing. This idiot got four NBA championship rings by being on teams to keep Dennis Rodman from doing anything stupid during the game... and he failed at that (Rodman's suspensions for kicking a cameraman in the groin and headbutting a referee). I do not believe John Salley knows much about boxing because he buys into James Toney's nonesense. But what could've been worse is if they brought in Mia St. John. She didn't do the sport any favors when she said she felt Jackie Chavez beat Lisa Brown when Chavez obviously got dismantled by the same body attack that wore her down the first time those two fought.
Hats off to Emery, Martinez, Sitzes and Nunez. Those were great fights and I do believe Nunez won. She was ripping Jeri up and probably would've knocked her out if the fight had been longer. Jeri got her with that great right hand and knocked her down, but that was really the only time Jeri got the best of her. I would've liked to have seen Ashley-Brown in a smaller ring; Lisa wasn't aggressive at all and was waaaaaaaaay too tight. She was looking discouraged after round 2. I'm starting to wonder how many of the 8 losses did Alicia Ashley really lose.
And I do want to say hats off to the commentators. Frank Trigg is a really cool guy and he called it right down the middle.

I want to say yay I am tired to, it is way past my bed time lol but I was wondering what happen with Elena vs Ava but i will talk about that later but starting with this Alicia thing I got to say she is an excellent boxer and I would love to know her opinon of her record but i never hear her say to much, I guess i will have to wait for Dee or some one to myspace her or interview her. Second 2 losses came from China now I dislike China because they are becoming just as bad as Germany when it comes to Judges. Let us be reminded of Gretchen Abaniel and her fight in China where she got robbed..it really makes me kinda sad that we are having the olympics their but oh well...Alicia Ashley is a fighter with alot of heart who in my opinon which is worth two quarters and some cheese lol.. Alicia Ashley does great and fights hard a true strength and hardcore brick for the sport of boxing but i must say this what worries me is that I hope nobody gets ROBBED IN NEW mexico ohmygosh that would be horrible because it would be a historic ppv but not a good one if it is not fair...

Why do they pick Mia to give a commentatory on anything did you hear her predictions for tommorrow fights I want to jump out of the window and land on her car lol jk... NEXT Elena for June 12 fight had alot of different opponents but why Ava Knight?? What happen with brooke diedrooff vs vanessa juarez I hear Vanessa is going against Catlin dance?? that is horrible that will just be an easy win for Vanessa

Alicia Ashley fought in China once, when she fought Zhang Xi Yan for the WIBA Banramweight World Title. i brought in 2 netural judges for that fight, and it was fair decision. the fight was close but Zhang deserved to win.==

i agree that Ashley deserved the decision over Brown. i have offered Ashley a fight for the vacant WIBA Bantamweight World Title on September 7th in Uruguay against Simone Da Silva Duarte. Uruguay is a netural venue, so there should be a fair outcome.

Cooper beat Biggers via TKO and Reid and Hoy fought to a draw. That's interesting; a few years ago, the Reid and Cooper fights would've been the ones on television. Hopefully, this leads to those two finally fighting each other, even though Elena told me that she has had issues with Cooper's trainer and there's a deep personal story behind all of that...

REid didn't fight Hoy she fought Amanda Knight that is what all the sites say??? I can only find results of this fight not a single photo gallery or video no where did Elena Reid vs Melinda Cooper (MY dREAm fight is to watch that one) WHAT ISSUES DOES ELENA HAVE WITH COOPERS TRAINER?? TELL ME

Yeah, it was Knight... oops.
As far as the trainer issues are concerned, that's not my place to tell anybody. I'm just passing on that Elena and Melinda were good friends and they have sparred many, many times. Elena is not ducking Melinda and isn't afraid of her, as many have accused her of being. It's just that, and this may have very well changed since the time I was told this, she doesn't want anything to do with certain people.
BTW-- we need to stop stereotyping every judge and every country. Germany, Trinidad, China, New Mexico... I've done some of this myself, but it just gets silly after a while. It sounds like Bush terror politics. Boxing is a very corrupt sport; I truly believe this, but we can't stereotype an entire country's mindset or bias against Americans based on a few fights. Hopefully, they'll be no disputing what happens tonight in Albequ--I can't spell it.

I was hoping and still hoping that this month will be an exciting boxing month With the action red hot and interesting anyone can be consumed by the treacherously dangerous amount of awesomeness and excitement that this could and would do for the sport, specatators and female boxers however with looking at bias reports from bias reports and staring clueless at some post that have been posted and thinking WTF was the judge thinking...all you can do is hope that maybe with Zulina (my favorite spanish boxer and who RIGHTFULLY BEAT GRAF) vs Vilalobos I was hoping that this would be the month Female boxing was one the cover of Yahoo and Google Sports in America but sadly it wasn't and with Fights like: Mia St John vs Amy Yuratovac Vanessa Juraez vs Catlin Dance I am not going to blame new mexico judges I am not going to say something was wrong all i have to say is if Holm is SO good she should go to the german title holder that fits near her weight class and fight her and win her titles. i am sorry for Mary JO but the best thing she can do from her loss is to better improve her self physically and mentally and fight others in her weight class Second Jeanine Garside lost too who trained with Mary Jo hmph..interesting.. Wendy rodriquez won and Carina Moreno beat the mongoose.I do admit i am shocked but all well that ends well. Now I definetly think Mary Jo should fight Ragosina or Ramsey All I have to say is their is no place to run know who know how many countries saw that tape but the point is after this good match we are going to need good matches hopefully to follow but as you can see we might not have any good ones sooon because Mia is vs Amy Yur(I can't spell her last name) fight today On the same day of that good card we had a horrible fight Caitlin Dance vs Vanessa Juarez then in July you know Ragosina's fight...so hmph good fights hopefully won't be rare in the US.

It also says that Chris Cozzone should go work for FOXNEWS... dominating... I think not. More like the same ole hitting and running and attempting to headbutt and hold stuff we always see from Holly Holm. And as Dave said, Mary Jo didn't capitalize on the opportunities she had, much like Hallback didn't against Holm. Holly Holm didn't win the fight; Mary Jo Sanders lost the fight.

Folks,
I just saw a tape from the 'appetizer' card on FSN on the 12th and I'll tell you this; if last night's 'main course' was anything like the 'appetizer', I'm going to have indigestion from it all.
As Shadina Pennybaker said, Ashley and Sitzes were both robbed and it was so blatantly obvious.
I take nothing away from Ella 'Bam Bam' Nunez, for I know she can punch and punch hard, so for Jeri Sitzes to knock Nunez down for, I think, the first time in Nunez's ring career is a real feat and Nunez did not shake it off.
If there was a belt for being a real sport about things, including the last decision she was robbed of, Jeri Sitzes is an undisputed champion.
The only people that really saw the fights were the booing ringside crowd, the FSN commentators, including John Salley, and those of us that either watched it live or on tape.
The judges must have been three blind mice!
If that wasn't bad enough, how can two of the three blind mice say that Lisa Brown won a split decision, when it was quite apparent that Alicia 'Slick' Ashley was just too slick for Brown to figure out? Ashley was in command of that fight from the opening bell, although Brown got in a few punches, but none of them had any affect on slowing Ashley down.
As far as the fight between Jill Emery and Angel Martinez, I honestly did not see that fight, being that it was posted that the first bell was at 7pm MST, which would mean 9pm EST; therefore, the tape I have just caught the end of the fight, with Emery getting the IFBA belt wrapped around her.
From the brief clip I saw of the fight, it looked like Jill was the better fighter.

Well a resolution to fixing bad judges is to do what the Germans do with their organization called spotlight and make an American version and especially one for female boxing.

Besides if yall can put up with me lol all was yapping, yall can deal with dee and team no mercy. Let me show you the difference, Justin. It's one thing to argue a point, it's another thing to go into different topics and promote yourself... that's called SPAMMING. S/He could start a thread calling all the fighters out; this person doesn't have to go to threads that have very little to do with h/her and place these "pop up ads" everywhere. And by the way, I didn't say ANYTHING about Dee. I don't know where you're getting that from, you've got me mixed up with someone who's name starts with a T and ends with a D. I like Dee and her bios and records educated me on just about every female fighter out there, and that was when she had a site of her own and did not merge her material with WBAN... not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm not being uptight about this at all. It's just annoying to go into a thread and expect to read comments from other fighters/managers about the fights that took place, after all, these people are supposed to be "experts"... only to come into the thread and read a bunch of "I,I,I, me,me,me!!" and that "my fighter can beat everybody and will fight anybody" stuff. If we put that angst into the gym, we wouldn't have that "mummy" style and that porous defense. I should also say that I enjoy Brooke's fights and I really appreciated the post she put on Mary Jo Sanders' myspace page after the Holm fight. I'm still pondering my message to Mary Jo because that fight and that horrible Cozzone coverage ticked me off. Alicia Ashley ran all night, huh? youtube.com/watch?v=phYBkI9f8k0And that was just round 2. I tried to pick a round that was competitive because not many of them were. If Alicia had more power, Brooke would've been stopped.

No I think you mean that Alicia Ashley has technique, style, grace. Now Brooke she is a good fighter, and at least doesn't do padding like so many she is good fighter. Judging by your comment you must be Brooke's Manager.
