I was watching this very old fight on vcr the other night. It was in Sturgis South Dakota, i think during the week of the motorcycle event. It appeared to be an outdoor venue.
Q: Does anyone know if boxing events are still held in Sturgiss, and does anyone know exactly where this aforementioned fight took place, eg.. a tribal reservation? If yes, what is the name of the venue?
I know, lots of questions about a very old fight...
appreciate any info.

It was in August 1999 at the Buffalo Chip Campground, during the annual biker rally. The "campground" can hold about 50,000 people - it's privately owned. They have an amateur boxing event most years, but that women's pro boxing event was a one-time thing (Mia St.John was in a fight there in 2004 too). It's near Cheyenne Indian land but not on it.

I bet the fights outside of the ring were just as exciting as the fights in the ring..
