Rakoczy should take a hard fought, but well-deserved decision. Jessica is a little too smooth for her.

On September 27th, Jessica Rakoczy (27-2) and Ann Saccurato (12-2-2) will compete in Lemoore, California for the WBC Female Lightweight Title currently held by Rakoczy. Who will win this bout? JR, This could be a really good fight. Jessica WINS if she fights. If she runs, it won't be much of a fight at all. For ANN, she wins if JESSICA runs. IF Jessica stands and fights, ANN will get her clock cleaned. Rakoczy has always been a disappointment to watch. Against Alcorn, she actually was the harder puncher but she backed up and ran the entire fight. When she did land, it was either a "jump in" counter or a backing up counter. While both were NOT strong shots, they were better shots than what Alcorn landed in the fight. I just can't figure out why Jessica is not an all out ass kicker. She has the bod, the fire, the form but the focus is always counterpunching ( at least what I have seen). Ann is fun as hell to watch. She makes fights. And she is fearless. However, a little work on her form would do wonders. Too often she's wild and not leveraged and just rushing her opponent. I had her winning the HOLM fight and no doubt, she made that fight...but didn't get the scoring credit for making that fight. I hope its a great fight...and NOT a HOLM like " track meet", which is not something that FANS want to see. TD

Jessica has much more experience, thus she should win. One problem for Ann, accidental headbutts. Rakoczy's style has caused many headbutts. No one has ever acused her of deliberately doing this but it has created an advantage for her in many of her bouts.

In My Opinion:
Ann Saccurato is a brawler. Saccurato defeated Jelena Mrdjenovich in Edmonton and, in my opinion and that of many others, defeated Holly Holm in Albuquerque. The last pure brawler that fought Jessica Rakoczy is Eliza Olson (2005) and defeated her by unanimous decision at Rakoczy’s venue.
Saccurato fights primarily as a welterweight and is coming down to lightweight for this contest. This is an advantage for Saccurato.
Headbutts are an issue with Rakoczy. Five of her fights involved headbutts – Mikee Stafford (2001), Jenifer Alcorn (2003), Mia St. John (2005), Belinda Laracuente (2006), and Kelli Cofer (2007). Three of these bouts were stopped due to headbutts and two of Rakoczy’s last five fights were halted due to headbutt injury.
Rakoczy will need to use her patented jab and ring movement to avoid Saccurato. Holm was partially successful in their contest but had the added dimension of being left-handed. Rakoczy is right-handed.
Finally, Rakoczy has the Promoter’s Advantage. Saccurato will need to stop Rakoczy to win – another Olson-type win by decision is not likely.
Rakoczy will have a difficult contest with Saccurato.
