Mia St. John's statement on WBAN concerning the Edmonton Sun interview seems a tad ambiguous. She does not deny the quotes only that she didn't give them directly to the paper's reporter on a one/one basis. It's entirely possible that the reporter was part of a group to whom St. John made these remarks. Rereading the piece in the Sun, I find nothing to indicate a claim that St. John made the remarks only to the Sun.
I spoke with St. John several weeks prior to the bout and found her to be forthcoming and candid in her remarks about all aspects of the boxing business. In other words, if you ask her a question, she'll give you an answer.
I suspect that St. John is more upset with the tenor of the piece in the Sun, rather than the use of the quotes. In this, I think she has more than a modicum of justification as the story seemed, to me, to reflect a more one-sided bout than the judges' scorecards.

Bernie Mia St. John did state the fight was much closer than the judges' scores indicated. Where do I find the round-by-round scores from these three judges? I want to examine their scoring. I'll also score the contest when it is broadcast on PPV.

At first it surprised me by how it was written. It bugged me somehow. I read a lot of one sided fight reports about womens fights. This one seamed different somehow. I just could not firgure out why. Then by reading post on this board and finally having time to think.
I think it plays up the one sided score of the fight so much to make up for the fact there was no Knockout in it. It after all Mia St John fighting in there after all.
the only real way it can be settled it to find someone or some people who watch it and ask them about it. Or find a copy of the fight and have some people or person report on it then.
They might of belived what all that has been written over the years about Mia too much. This might be the only case of that to take place.
