In keeping with the whole production, wouldn't it have made sense to keep the weights under wraps for at least three or four days?
The fights happen on July 2 and are on TV on July 12? Here's a better idea: on July 12, show the first Clampitt/Couch bout, followed by Martin/Laracuente, followed by either one of the Mathis/Lamare bouts. Fans know who won those fights and on July 12, they'll know who won the July 2 fights, many will have known for ten days.
More television disrespect for the sport of Women's boxing and the July 2 fighters. In this instance, the event becomes little more than "fill" programming.

Ahhh, Bernie, The operative phrase is "wouldn't it have made sense. . ." The answer, of course, is "yes." However, in the context of boxing, and more specifically, boxing for the lesser half; according to standard operating procedure, the establishment will move forward with due diligence in a direction 180 degrees to the sense-making path. Kind of a reverse Tivo in this case. Dee H

In other words, it's Shakespearean in nature: "TV or not TV, that is the question.'

In My Opinion:Donna “Nature Girl” Biggers vs. Kelsey “Road Warrior” JeffriesWBAN pre-judged this contest: In a "not-so-interesting" matchup in the co-main, Kelsey Jeffries, Gilroy, California, will be fighting Donna Biggers, of Boiling Springs, North Carolina. We applaud Biggers for taking up the challenge, but Jeffries will probably be too much for Biggers at this time. Jeffries will be defending her (126-lb) featherweight championship belt in this scheduled 10-rounder. Thought was Jeffries would stop Biggers as Jelena Mrdjenovich and Layla McCarter did. But Biggers showed improved footwork, head movement, angles, and punches as hard as Jeffries. I scored the bout 100-92. A unanimous decision for Jeffries and a personal victory for Biggers by defeating the expected outcome. With this bout, Jeffries has now competed in her home state 22 of 48 fights and Biggers only 4 of 25. Who’s the “Road Warrior?” Chevelle Hallback vs. Terri BlairThis was the best contest of the card. Both fighters are skilled athletes. The official scores were 78-74, 79-73, and 77-75 for Hallback. Blair disagreed with the judges: “I think I won that fight,” she said afterward. “Even if I didn’t, the score should have been closer.”www.temeculavalleynews.com/story.asp?story_ID=23949I scored the fight a draw.
