L-R: Germaine de Randamie, Keri Crothers-Scar
Keri's boxing activity cant hurt. But it would help more if this was kickboxing or full contact rules, where the boxers crouch and weaving and bobbing could be utilized with less risk-but in MT rules those tactics present a risk of being kneed.
DAN- boxing does not equal "bobbing and weaving low and or under", see Lennox Lewis for the European stance and technique. Matter of fact, side to side has replaced low and under as the "way in". You have a limited view of what boxing is. The best boxers are the best movers.
Rivera got knocked out because she is NOT that skilled of a boxer...as she likes/has a tendancy to drop her hands ( usually when kicking). Germaine knocked her out with a kick as Rivera lunged forward throwing a punch and her hands dropped ( not as much as they used to). If Rivera had better hand technique ( boxing defense) she might have defused that kick. To her defense, she never saw it coming as Germaine exploded the kick...but Germaine did she Angie load up to punch ( the tell of a kickboxer using their fists).
The europeans are all straight up fighters. Even ricky hatton's attack is a side to side to side move.
will Keri's SP stance bother Germaine? probably not that much -as the MT stance being squared to one's opponent somewhat lessens the SP advantage
A lefty stance is always an advantage. Like Naoko didn't cash in with her left leg!?!?! Yes Keri's stance will bother Germaine, lefties always do. But that's not what is going to win this fight for Keri. She's driven. And ready to rock. I know Keri can take a shot, but can Germaine? We are about to find out.
