Sooner or later with SOONER being the favorite, Stay Lo is going to be accused of Dodging the STEP in front of her. The STEP UP step, as in stop taking easy fights that pad a record.
Reile to fight in Florida (NOV 28) On December 4, 2006, you can see Stacey Reile, 6-0-0 (3KO), from Miami, Florida, fighting Delia Hoppe, 3-2-0 (1KO), in a six-round bout at 124 lbs., at the Gulfstream Park, Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Not saying Delia Hoppe is an easy fight but just taking a WAG here, she is NOT a step up for Stacy.
The second Sooner or Later for Stay Lo is Melissa Hernandez. Now that would be a fight that fans would line up to see.

Hernandez is in a different time zone. Maureen Shea would be a good matchup for Reile. Answer questions on both sides.

Stacey's plan is to fight this 6 rounder against Hoppe, then step up to an 8 rounder, possibly for a WIBA regional title, and then challenge Hernandez for her WIBA 122 lb World Title. RYAN

Ryan, honestly, do you think this is a competitive fight?
How can she ever step up if she never takes any kind of a "test"?
The way she's acting and contracting, she better bring a gun when and IF she steps in with Hernandez.

Hurricain would be an ambitious step for Stay-Lo at this point. Stacey did KO Lakeysha Williams, which is a decent accomplishment, but it's not close to drawing with Kelsey Jefferies (over 10 rounds no less), which is what Hernandez did. That's the only comparision I can go on, but I have to ask why risk such a dangerous crossroads bout so early in her career? It shows guts, but is it a smart move? That's the question Team Lo has to decide. I'm sure the fans would love to see it...

That's the question Team Lo has to decide. I'm sure the fans would love to see it... Here's the thinking...women's boxing has very few compelling match ups that ignite fan interest. Sure a local bout here and there have those fans clapping. But think about this, one of the reasons we know about Melissa is SHE STEPPED UP and fought Super K! Brave move and a move that brought out the best in her and "steeled" her. She knows she can take any lady out there that is close to her in weight after drawing with Super K! So she ignited interest and improved her own confidence while giving women's boxing a BOOST. I thought Stacy was on the same track...but it looks like she was derailed. She gets a false boost if she beats Hoppe and it does NOTHING for boxing let alone Stay Lo. And as if you said, the fans would love the match up, well, as Jim Lamply would SAW away , "that's what boxing is all about, knowhatimsayin". Who would pay to see Stay Lo and Hoppe? Nobody really. And its a mismatch. TD

Stay-Lo will hand Hernandez her lunch and then eat it too! This would be such a mismatch. Once again they have been in the ring before unofficially and some one got their nose broken, and it was not Stay-Lo. Stacy is so much better now than she was then, plus the force that drives her to box (anger), is nothing to be dealt with lightly. I'm sure she's around looking at what is being said, and if you doubt my girl, you just piss her off more!!! If this fight was to ever happen Hernandez will be thanking the men and women of this forum for receiveing a Well Whooped A$$ from Ms. Stay-Lo. Just be careful about the comments you make about people.

MS. HERNANDEZ CALLED HER OUT. SHE HAS NOT RESPONDED. WHY IS THAT...? SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT HER, SHE'S LOOKING AWAY FROM MEL AND TOWARD EASY FIGHTS. IMO. When and where was this call out? That's like me calling out Ms. Robinson or Ms. Wolfe. They would simply look the other way because they know they would devour me, and have nothing to gain by fighting me. Use common sense please.

I think this is so ironic. Does anyone agree? Remeber all the hype about Stay-Lo and Melissa Hernandez? Someone wrote " i think stacey wants the fight more than melissa does" I know for a fact that this fight was in the making , a title fight at that. Why did Melissa mysteriously decide that she can't make 122 lbs again "ever again in good health" Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. ;D ;D ;D That's funny. If you train, you can keep the weight off. I just think it was strange timing. So close to a potential title fight against Stay-Lo, wow. If I could not back up the $hit I talked, I would pull a hit and run too!!! Smart move Melissa.

Tachany...money changes everything. Money magically loses weight, it cures the sick and it makes the hesitant one show up early. Mel looked pretty tight between 125 and 121, as does Stay Lo. I hope what you are saying is not true as theses two ladies would make one hell of a great fight AND, hopefully, a decent payday. But when you can't get the promoter to pay you what you want at say 126, go up to 130...that changes everything. Stay Lo needs a step up fight, a big time challenge and I think she is ready. Mel is a gamer, she's fought plenty of fighters that were over her head so I don't see her having to prove anything. TD

Bottom line is Hernandez is scared and she found a very easy way out.
Example. I could have fought Cassandra Geiggar for a title but do I look that stupid? So what did I do, I did the same thing Hernandez did but I went down in weight instead of up in weight.
I was just unable to maintain and live a healthy lifestyle fighting 170 lbs plus. Ha, ha, ha!

If you use those tactics inorder to get out of a fight, that doesn't nessecarely mean others do the same for the same reason.

One more time, I don't think ANYONE would dispute Mellissa's guts. I would have a hard time believing she would RUN from anyone, let alone create a career move blunder by moving up in weight to avoid a fight with Stay Lo. Stacy is fun as all get out to watch but she has some technical flaws that any fighter with fire could exploit. So I don't see her as someone a fighter runs from the way they used to run from Lucia. But Ryan has stated that he saw a sparring session that turned into a total throwdown and that Stacy did in fact kick Mel's ass. Truthfully, that would be hard to imagine, but a great back and forth between them is more like it. Ryan has credibility although he's Stay Lo's good friend so he had to have a pair of Stacy glasses on for that sparring session. But hell, if they have that session on tape and a promoter who wasn't drunk before 7AM everyday had a chance to watch it, then I have to believe, that promoter, when sober, would put a bag of money on the table for those two ladies. If two action, fit, firey fighters like Mel and Stacy can't make money fighting, then the sport is down the tubes. TD

i didnt see Stacey spar Melissa, because i was in West Virginia sanctioning the Leatitia Robinson - Nikki Eplion fight. but when i got back home, i heard all about it from various sources at the gym. it was a long time ago, and both girls have improved alot since then. what do you guys think about a Stay-Lo vs Kel-C matchup? if Stay-Lo can come correct with a promoter to promote a fight for the vacant WIBA Super Bantamweight Title, she will have to fight the highest rated available contender for the belt. RYAN Hey Ryan...Stay Lo and Super K would be an awesome fight. Put in a 8 ft. ring and watch the fire works go off. It would be a major step up for Stacy. Meanwhile, do you have any insight into Mel "running away" from a fight with Ítacy by moving up in weight? That would be very hard to believe. TD

Well like I stated earlier..... When you train, the weight comes off. If you eat like a pig, you will maintain your weight. If she is not running then she will drop weight by training Harder, and eating lots of vegetables to boost her metabolism, and eat lean protein. Also lots of water helps flush away unwanted pounds. I do not see how eating healthy can not help a person make a certain weight class "in good health". Bottom line is that's a bunch of garbage.
Stay Lo would clean the ring with Hernandez, and I will bet EVERYTHING I own on that fight.
