Huge week ahead. Sue Fox and Dee Williams have most of these posted on WBAN, but I will update their listings and add a comment or two.
Thursday 9/14: Altoona Iowa; Steph Dobbs 22-22-3 (13) vs Natasha Wilburn 1-12 in a Jr. fly six. Gee Bobby, can't you get your wife a better opponent? Heather Percival 8-3 (1) vs Sharon Gaines 10-7 (3) in a bantam six in Highland, California. In a Jr. Fly six in Lemoore, California, Carina Moreno 9-1 (3) vs Valerie Rix 4-0-1 (1); and in a just added bout, Jessica Rakoczy 23-2 vs TBA. (I would think Jessica would have waited longer than a week for the forehead cut to heal before taking another bout.) Also added Thursday in San Jose, California; Kelsey Jefferies 34--9-1 (2) vs TBA.
Friday, September 15. First, I can't find Melissa Hernandez on the Atlanta, Georgia card, and I can't find the St. Louis card (where Dunaway was supposed to fight Hamaguchi for the WIBA minimum title). If I find something I will update the post.
In Trinidad & Tobago, 40 year old Hawaiian, Lisa Holewyne 25-17-2 (8) is fighting hometown favorite Giselle (Jisselle) Salandy 11-0 (5) ? for the vacant WBC and vacant WBA women's Jr. Middleweight titles. Word to Holewyne: try for a KO because you will never win a decision in T & T. Also, a joke 8 round WIBA middleweight Ibero-American title fight between Margaret Walcott 1-6-1 and Scroller Carrington 6-1-1 (4).
Two ladies bouts in Manistee, Michigan. Kara Ro 13-0 (7) is making her comeback after a year's retirement by fighting Kim Colbert 2-10-1 (2) in a junior lightweight bout, and Natalie Brown 3-0 (3) fights another unbeaten, Ingrid Hay 4-0-1 (3) in a light welter battle.
Other bouts include Nora Reyes 1-1 vs TBA (feather-4) in Chicago; Maria Rosa Tabusso 10-2-2 (3) vs Judit Palacian 6-5-2 (4) (super fly-6) in Frosinone, Italy; Danielle Bouchard 5-1 (1) vs Maria Potenza 2-4 (feather) in Montreal, Canada, and Crystal Morales 4-4-1 (1) vs Kerry Vera 1-0 (lightweight) in Montebello, California.
Saturday, September 16. In Berlin, Germany: Ramona Kuehne 3-0 vs Livia Sandorfi 0-0-1 in a light welter six. And in Cleveland, Ohio, Alecia Battle (great name for a fighter) 2-0 (2) takes on Veronica Rucker 2-6- (1) in a crusierweight battle.
