An extremely heavy schedule this week beginning Tuesday in Montreal where hometown girl Danielle Bouchard 4-1 (1) takes on Guyana's Shondell Alfred 9-4 (3) in a four round featherweight bout.
Thursday is highlighted by the IWBF lightweight Title fight in Providence between 16-3-1 (7) Jamie Clampitt and 13-1 (6) Mellissa Fiorentino in what could be the fight of the year so far. Also, Jamie McGrath 1-0 is supposed to be on the Huntington, NY card against TBA, but the last time I looked, they hadn't found an opponent.
There are three ladies bouts Friday: Emily Kelly debuts against Becky Garcia 4-0 (3) in Phoenix; Maureen Shea 5-0 (3) against TBA in a six rounder in New York City; and in Chubut, Argentina, Super Bantam Claudia Lopez 2-0 goes agains TBA.
Saturday is absolutely bonkers: First, in Cholea Provence, Korea;
three IFBA title fights. The only near legitamate one (in my humble opinion) is Cho Rong Son 4-0 (2) against Japan's Satoka Kimimura 4-4 in a light fly ten rounder. Next is Japan's Emiko Raika 13-2-1 (5) against debuting Won Mee Jung (Korea?) in a light welter ten. Finally, Ji Hyun Park 1-1 (1) against debuting Gong Jin (Korea?) in a strwweight ten.
In Tijuana, Mexico, a legitamate WBC super bantam championship fight between Jackie Nava 13-1-1 (8) and Alejandra Oliveras 6-0-1 (2). In Yellow Knife, Northwest Territory, Canada: Jelena Mrdjenovich 15-1 (10) against Franchesca Alcanter 17-6-1 (9) in a rematch of ther November tilt which was won by Jelena in a spectacular 6th round TKO. This is scheduled for ten, but no mention is made of Jelena defending her belt. Jelena is using this as a tune up for her June 23rd title match with Mia St. John.
Next, there are two female bouts on the card in Buhl, Germany. Super middleweight Natalie Grimmer 1-0-1 (1) and debuting featherweight Irina Scheuermonn are both waiting for opponents to be announced. Finally, in Espanola, New Mexico, hometown southpaw Monica Lavato 7-1 (4) takes on Denver's Tracy Moulton 5-6-1 (2) in a super flyweight tussle.
