Nice article. But , correct me if I am wrong Ted, I think it's more about cutting a fighter loose than matching an excellent match. Universum i.e. never matches people from the same stable unless they want to get rid of one of them. Logical.
I was giving this fight another thought. I think Missy is too agressive for Jamie. Kinda like Mueller was, but a little rougher. Keeping in mind how I remember Missy from years ago. She might have changed but I can only judge my opinion on that. Missy beats the good opponents she fought convincingly, where Jamie stuggles. (and sometimes with sub-top opponents as well)
On the other hand I worry about the fact that we have a featherweight fighting a lightweight. Of course Missy doesn't have to come down in weight that much now, but Jamie will probably be a jr Welter AT LEAST come fightime, while Missy will likely be much lighter still.

Marcel - no one is looking to get cut at all. Jaime was scheduled to be the main event, but than since we got stuck with a Thursday night as the Friday was taken, Jimmy felt we needed more an an "event." He proposed the idea to Jaime and she accepted.
As for struggling against better opposition - who has Missy defeated so easily? I don't think Missy's opposition is anywhere near as tough as Jaime's has been. As for weight, Jaime has only had one fight back at 135. She will make the weight easy for sure and she will probably be over that come fight time. People forget that the two campaigned at the same weight as amateurs however, so I don't think the weight is as big an issue as some people say.
Also, as a side note - the first Jaime-Liz fight was tremendously close and some thought Jaime could have gotten that one. The second one was close through six, but than Liz took over as Jaime was not at all ready for a 10 round fight at that time.
The bottom line, though, is that Jaime chose to give Missy this fight and it will be a tremendous fight on May 18th. She could have fought anyone, especially considering its her first fight back since having a bone removed from her hand & she is the bigger draw! But she didn't and if you live anywhere close get your tickets! The more support we get for the fight the better chance you will have to see another CES female main event in the future.

Jaime looks great in a bikini on the fight poster! this is a really good matchup, i think Jamie's size advantage will give her the edge, but Missy's toughness and relentlessness will surely give Jaima a tough night. i expect Jaime to win on points, but i wouldnt be shocked if Missy wins. its a very good clash of styles, the boxer Jamie vs the slugger Missy. i cant wait to see it on TV. A little addition in regards to the weight issue...Missy wrote this: “I felt strong (at 135), now I have to decide if I want to stay at my weight because I actually had trouble putting on the weight. I’ll have to think about whether I want to stay at this weight or go back down to Featherweight, because I’d like to unify the titles at Featherweight. I’ll have to decide and see what comes up next.” Time will tell if she stays at ligthweight or if she feels more comfortable at feather. I am not sure if Jamie was on high heels on this picture, but it sure as hell looks like a huge difference in frame: cesboxing.slide.com/c/untitled-1994640097/69739039
