On Saturday, in Keil, Germany, Carolina Alverez 3-0-1 (1) has been added to the card to fight TBA. This card already features Menzer-Santana and Sahin-Brown. There are three world title fights on Saturday, here are the records and rankings:Ostseehalle, Kiel, Germany:
Ina Menzer 12-0-0 (6 KO) WBAN #3 ranked featherweight vs. Maribel Santana 6-1-1 (3 KO) (unranked by WBAN)
WIBF Featherweight title
Cathy Brown 12-7-0 (5 KO) WBAN #5 ranked flyweight vs. Hulya Sahin 14-0-0 (2 KO) WBAN #6 ranked flyweight
WIBF Flyweight title Emperor Garden, Budapest, Hungary
Krisztina Belinszky 17-5-2 (9 KO) WBAN #2 ranked strawweight vs. Ria Ramnarine 8-4-0 (2 KO) WBAN #3 ranked strawweight
WIBF-GBU and WIBC strawweight world titles
I agree with Len's comment in the other thread, Brown vs. Sahin looks like the best matchup of the three. Sahin (32), from Turkey, is making her first pro world title shot after a strong amateur career. Brown (35) a converted kickboxer from the U.K., has been in pro world title fights before, against Alina Shaternikova, Regina Halmich, Bettina Csabi and Stefania Bianchini, but she has always been on the short end of it on the scorecards, including the one fight (vs. Shaternikova) that was on her home turf. She threw a big scare into Halmich and this may be her best chance yet at a title. Sahin is fighting in her adopted country of Germany, so she will have the "home edge" ... Cathy Brown's bio is at www.wban.org/biog/cbrown.htm
