Elena Reid won her MMA debut last night, stopping her opponant in the 2nd round. here is a clip from the news article:
Popular local boxer Elena "Baby Doll" Reid made her mixed martial arts debut in the final dark bout of the evening. Tammie Schneider was absolutely no match for the veteran pugilist. Her standup was no match for Reid, and the Missouri native couldn't bring Reid down to the canvas. Eventually Reid stopped her 2:05 into the second round after a vicious barrage of punches to the body.

Schneider was unable to take down Reid. The fight photos on Sherdog show Schneider in awkward positions attempting this. A seasoned grappler would have no problem taking down Reid or any other striker. And when a grappler brings a striker to the ground game, a submission is simply a matter of time. Reid should consider a full-time MMA career. MMA is a growing sport, bouts are easier to find, she can make money, and few contests go to the score cards so she would not have to face judges like she did in the Halmich bouts.
