Here's a round-by-round report from Britain: excerpted from www.britishboxing.net/news_1445-Elcock-s-revenge-in-five.htmlBristol's Jane Couch outpointed game Ukrainian Viktoria Oleynik over 6x2's. The fight was at welterweight.
Oleynik (9st 5lbs) landed three consecutive overhand rights at the start of the first round. Couch (10st) was having difficulty getting a foothold, and to add to that Oleynik was very reckless with her head. Couch was having no room to breathe as Oleynik was pursuing the Bristolian around the ring, continuously on her chest. Jane had better success late on jarring the Ukrainian with a sharp straight left, but the Ukrainian as tenacious as they come returned the favour with some lusty body shots.
Entering the second Oleynik rocks Couch with a cluster of blows, but for most of the round is guilty of slapping with her punches. Couch attacks with more consistently in this round throwing compact hooks and body shots that make Viktoria take a step-back. Jane develops bruising under the right eye. I made a note that the Ukrainian looks susceptible to uppercuts.
Couch has a good round, but is cut on the side of her left-eye, it was not clear how it occurred, but with Oleynik's head being wild, there is a chance it was caused by a coming together of heads. Oleynik tries to land her shots, but “The Fleetwood Assassin” is taking near enough all her shots on her gloves. Oleynik is being pushed back and punished by her opponent who attacks to both head and body.
Rounds four and five follow in the same vein, with Couch attacking and rocking the opponent whose workrate has dropped significantly. Couch is attack, attack, attack in this round and is grunting with determination.
In the final round Couch starts with a left cross-followed by a left uppercut, Oleynik does the same, but misses the uppercut. The Ukrainian is now resorting to chopping blows, in the toe-to-toe round. Referee O'Connor gives the fight to Couch, much to the disgust of Oleynik whom taps her chest and jumps on the turnbuckle celebrating. It was scored 59-57 to Couch, which tallied with my scorecard.

Congratulations Janie.... (what happened to Elena T?) Thanks Rick, We don't know what happened to Elena T. The first news I had for a change of opponent was when we got to Birmingham. Tex Woodward
