Zhang Xi Yan (a.k.a. Cheng Xin) won a 10-round unanimous decision over Alicia Ashley to win the vacant WIBA Bantamweight World Title. scores: Shin Kyoung-Ho (S Korea) 96-94 Salven Lagumbay (Philippines) 97-93 Huang Xin (China) 100-91 i had it scored 96-94
Zhang Xi Yan is a 2-time world amateur champion (2002-Turkey and 2003-Norway). she is the real deal, and i was very impressed by this woman, seeing her fight in just her 2nd pro bout. she has a very good future ahead of her. RYAN

This brutally unveils the real status of professionality in women boxing. There are far too few boxers with profound boxing skills ...
She simply defeated a top boxer of the present scene in her second pro bout, wow ...

An honest win over Alicia Ashley is a huge feather in anyone's cap but it's not a "brutal comment" on anyone's professionality. Zhang Xiyan not only won the world amateur 54-kg title in 2002 and 2004 but she won her semifinal and final bouts in 2004 by RSCO-2 and was named the "best boxer" of the 2004 AIBA world tournament. That's a VERY high level of attainment for an amateur boxer. She also had the home court advantage in this bout, which is not a comment on the judging, but traveling all round the world to fight is harder than fighting at home, even for an experienced pro like Alicia.
So let's not get this confused with a world title win by some totally unknown near-rookie, it's a very big win very soon for the Chinese boxer, but she is someone with about as good a record at the world amateur level as it was possible to have.

Folks, don't be too 'ah' struck yet. It was in China and it was by a unanimous decision, which usually means, 'hometown' decision. Did anyone see any of this fight? Being that it was in China, I somewhat doubt it; therefore, let's just wait and see what Alicia Ashley has to say about the decision. I know that she won't make any excuses, but she may say, "I want a rematch, outside of China", if that is possible.
