The 2011 Awards for Women's Boxing FIGHTER OF THE YEAR > Anne Mathis Mathis destroyed Holm in a brutal beatdown. Holm got lit up like the White House Christmas Tree. In New Mexico. Perhaps the most impressive win ever in the sport. KO OF THE YEAR > Anne Mathis KO of Holly Holm "I know from the outside, this kind of KO may seem shocking. But that's boxing. Me, it is these moments that I love, when I feel my opponent is about to fall..." Anne Mathis -penserlaboxefeminine.com www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNPKmnHT9s4&feature=relatedFIGHT OF THE YEAR > Ana Torres v Jackie Nava - the 2nd fight As good as it gets in boxing. Looking forward to the biggest fights in 2012 that I hope make it to the ring. Anne Mathis v Cecilia Braekhus > This is the big kahuna for the welterweights. Holm is irrelevant now. Does Braekhus even have a chance after what transpired in New Mexico? Ana Torres v Kaliesha West > Ladies, let's get it on! Amanda Serrano v Ina Menzer > The old pro vs. the talented rising star. Frida Wallberg v any of the lightweights > Just HOW good is Wallberg?

Good calls.
I'd like to see Susi Kentikian against Ava Knight. I wouldn't see the fight lasting beyond 6 or so rounds and I have a suspicion that Knight might win. She beat up Arely Mucino who gave Susi a pretty hard time before the latter got cut and the match was called off...plus if you look at Kentikian's record the kos came in the earlier part of her career but have recently dried up.

I agree with you that Mathis should get fighter of the year but the fight of the year is not as good as it gets in women boxing and I think Cecilia would get smushed by Mathis too, Cecilia never even fought Lamare and i dont believe torres will fight west, sorry, it could happen but i dont think so! Ina Menzer vs Amanda serrano, amanda serrano hasnt really taken any real risky fighters and neither has Ina eve though I like amanda, and she is a tough, rough fighting machine, Frida wallberg vs diana prazack (nice but wont happen unless frida travels to australia) Lindsay garbatt or Jelena vs Amanda serrano
Susi K will fight Nadia raoui, and susi k will win again because it her promotion that is sponsoring the fight Susi K may fight Ava but Susi K and her promotion but be willing to take the risk and with saying that, I dont believe she will take the fight and if ava fights susi k, she will really have to ko susi k because no foriegner has ever beat the SES promotions female fighters and they have cheated fighters now HG boxing promotions is the most fair and balance promotion in mexico

There is a rematch clause....in new mexico again. Holly needs to take at least 6 months off though.

Rick, if LF has even so much as an ounce of humanity left in him, which by the way is unverified, he should release Mathis from his BS contract. Do we really another fight where Holm gets her brains scrambled?
And Cecilia Braekhus needs to stop calling out Holm. That dream died + vanished with a TOTALLY DEFENSELESS Holm getting knocked out of the ring.
If Cecilia is the fighter I hope she is, it's now time for her to accept the challenge from Mathis.

JASON, if you don't like my pick for 2011 FIGHT of the YEAR, ok. But would it be too much effort on your part to give us "your" choice for 2011 FIGHT of the YEAR? I'm curious to know, what fight was better than Nava v Torres II? Do you even have a selection, or were you just dissing mine? Jackie Nava vs Ana Maria Torres II www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtLoihUD-AM
