From WBAN:
(SEPT 29) WBAN has received some disturbing information that Erin Toughill was KO'd in the first round on August 31, 2006 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and while suspended from that sanctioned boxing bout, she fought just 17 days later, in a Mixed Martial Arts bout at the Cache Creek Casino, in California. Erin fought on an Indian Reservation, whereas the California Boxing Commission does not control---sounds like they should be.
I think the world of Erin Toughill and I believe it is her right to do what she wants with her life. She is an adult. BUT...
Her not a very nice person manager Butch Gotlieb is the biggest hippocrite that has ever lived. When my niece was TKOed in Nevada and they wanted to send her on a screaming ambulance ride just to cover their ass, I refused and Butch made sure and tried to make it look like I was wrong for that and that I didnt care about my fighter.
But, he had no problem letting Erin who was hurt a lot more than my niece fight again in 2 weeks.
Like I said, I don't think it was wrong for Erin to take the fight. She was making a living and she should have the right to make her own informed health decisions.
Its just the contradiction that pisses me off.

What in the heck is going on here? In New York, the American people aren't allowed to devour transfats. Parents are not allowed to choose the cancer treatment their kids get with out the government stepping in. The government can still our homes and business with little or no protection and now the boxing world is ticked off cause it can't enforce a suspension and keep Erin from earning a living. I got an email from Erin and she said she was fine. Boxing needs to tend to its own business or it's going to get its nose dislocated in court. I am sure MMA will not look to kindly on boxing messing with one of its stars. I am also sure Erin won't look to kindly to it either. Maybe America is the evil empire that needs to be punished.
