it looks like Holm is fighting Melissa Hernandez on December 4th, at a catchweight of 140. these are the 2 best P4P female boxers in the world according to boxrec. it should be entertaining! RYAN

Todd I agree with you, I can't hate Holly, she looks for opponents and she basically just knockem's out however if you look at Cecila Braekhus carefully she is just another fighter made of tin however Holly is made up of iron and Holly could easily wipe the floor with Cecilia. Terri Blair could not go against the money machine that Hollie produces. Hollie can get a good trainer, team and other stuff. Terri Blair hasn't had many fights in a while. Cecilia's fight with Lucia Moreilli was the worst crap I have ever seen produced. Here is the fight basically Lucia charging at Cecilia and Cecilia backing up every where around the ring while punching. I felt like Cecilia was trying to throw rock at a Frankienstein. Lucia had power and she could have knocked out Cecilia but Lucia only had energy to keep her arms up and then I after my sight has been cast upon this horribly WIBA legit crap fight, some one has the gall to say Cecilia is the best fighter in the world, i would slap them with a fish and flush them down the toliet. However Cecilia because she has money she can either avoid this fight or train up and avoid getting pounded to death.

Holm is at her peak and is unafraid of anyone put in front of her. The list of possible opponents includes: 1. Cecelia Braekhus; 2. Anne Sophie Mathis (possible fight for December 2010); 3. Jaime Clampitt; 4. Molly McConnell; and 5. Jessica Rakoczy."

Why not Layla McCarter ? This would be the best match now from my perspective.
Cecialia Braekhus is not yet at Holm's level.

Where will Layla McCarter fight in NZ this month? She didn't box Christina Tai on March 31, as planned.

Addy Irizarry just got a SD over Molly McConnell tonight so maybe she should be on Holm's list too.

The results from the May 15, 2010 Braekhus - Cisneros fight in Herning, Denmark should provide some solid evidence as to how close Braekhus is to being able to take on Holm. As for Holly, I came across this little item today and thought it would be worth sharing. will put link at end. Anyone that can reference Chris Arreola when writing about Holly has my vote for "sports writer of the year." This posted on Feb. 23, 2010 so Edwin Valero was still with us, for those of you that go to the link... "Holm always comes to rumble, is in better shape than Chris Arreola, fights harder than Kevin Johnson, draws bigger crowds than Chad Dawson, and is more exciting than Floyd Mayweather Jr." thecruelestsport.com/news-wire/pound-for-pound/Holly vs Cecilia is a great idea but the problem is that this is more of an idea that a fight. I don't think Cecilia will come to America and I don't think Holly's manager will let her go to Europe but that is just my opinion.

People down here think she is BETTER than Holly so tomorrow we shall find out and we will report who is better. Believe us Victoria has fought many of the best in the world so she can tell us what she thinks of who is the best of the world at this weight class." I pride myself on not being a holm fan but after seeing this comment. I have say "Cecilia and her management have never come out of their European hiding spot, Cecilia hasn't face many top challengers like Holm has. If Cecilia fought Holm, Cecilia would be ko'd or tko'd. Cecilia is fighting Victoria, enought said. Cecilia and her management couldn't find anyone to fight because she was looking for an easy win.

Braekhus defeated Cisneros 100-90 x 3 Victoria got outclassed by Holly, so this proves absolutely nothing. besides Breakhus looked for an easy win and got one. Anyone who knew boxing would have realized that this fight was a giant setup.

I know there are a whole range of opinions on this "possible" fight (ie. reminds me of the McLaughlin Group) BUT, I'm a firm believer that at some point, fans of women's boxing are going to get to see which fighter is the Queen Bee of the welterweights. here is a small taste of what Braekhus will bring to the fight!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIcSR6KRbLoI have not added my "comments" yet to those posted, but plan to. just like this video and Cecilia's last fight they are tomato cans, now yes the video may look cool but the only worth while fighters she fought were Lucia Morelli and Vinni Skovgaard

I agree with you TD, I wouldn't mind seeing that super match but one problem is with super matches someone is always trying to get the upper hand on the other fighter. Both Braekhus team and Holm team need each other. I agree with Lenny that maybe Cecilia should try fighting some better opponents like Myriam Lamare or Monica Acosta WBC, or Chris Namus or Lely Florez
I hate to use Lenny's words against him but Braekhus has beaten everyone in her division, most of the other fighters in her divsion(check boxrec under Braekhus) aren't ready to fight a champion. Holly has beaten many great fighters but because she went down in weight there are many fighters who are champion and beaten champions have showed up in Holly's weight class that Holly hasn't even fought against.
Here is the bottom line: HOlly needs a challenge and the only reason she is going into mma is because she hasn't found a real challenge in boxing. On the other hand Braekhus team might try to screw Hollie's team in USA. I think what lenny also is thinking that Cecelia's team might try to take a win against Holm and run with it and never give them a rematch.

Holly Holm is unbeatable at the present time. No one is Unbeatable, the only reason a fighter is unbeatable is because they haven't fought a good challenge. That goes for Cecilia and Holly!!!!!!!!

www.vg.no/sport/boksing/artikkel.php?artid=10091829the approx. english translation is: "We will help you to beat Holly Holm, Cecilia!" "I think she will do very well against Holly. With the right sparring, she is ready for it. She is ready for it already, but you can always be better prepared," Emery told VG Nett The article also points out that right now, Jill's coach thinks Holm is just a little better than Cecilia, but that Cecilia has it in her to flip that status in her favor. It is possible that Cecilia might travel to New York to train with Emery at Gleason's Gym, or more likely, Jill and her coach would help train Braekhus in Germany for the Holm fight. The story also says that Jill and her coach advised Cecilia NOT to go up against Holm in New Mexico. As for my humble and unimportant opinion, I can think of no better person to help train Cecilia for a hook-up with Holm than Emery. Having Jill as her sparring partner just might be that extra little edge that would help Cecilia pull off the upset. And what an upset it would be for Braekhus to walk out of the ring holding Holm's belts. Anyone agree/disagree??? Jill's coach is pretty good, but Jill sparing with Cecilia would be nice but not that edge they are looking for. Jill sparing with Cecilia would help Jill and maybe Cecilia but not as much as Cecilia training and sparing with Mathis and Lamare. Gleason gym maybe good but Mathis and Lamare are champions, and Mathis has fought Holm already, so she knows what to expect from fighting her. Both have dangerous power and skill. Also looks like Cecilia will be taking on Chevelle in May.

Yah whoops sorry about that, my main point is that Lamare or Mathis or both would make better sparring partners than Jill Emery.
