Meantime in Istanbul, World Boxing Champion KATIE TAYLOR was busy at work so by 10.46 (Ireland) or 1246 (Istanbul), Katie had annexed the Gold Medal yet again in the final of the AHMET COMERT Cup.(60kg)
In a country passionate about boxing she scored a 5-1 win over her tough Turkish opponent OZLEM DINC at the Ahmet Comert Gymnasium in Istanbul.
1-1 at end of round 1, Katie then took a 3-1 lead at end of Round Two.
There was considerable encouragement for Katie from her management including Dad, Coach Peter as she took rounds 3 (4-1) and 4 (5-1).
Another good "day at the office" for Katie. Another Gold for Ireland. She's a true phenom, folks!
