If you really want to learn proper boxing technique in a bona fide boxing gym, as opposed to 24 hr fitness, Gold's, Crunch, etc., then head to Santa Monica & Vine to Wild Card Gym. There are all levels of pros (entry level to superstars = men, not women), a few amateurs, and plenty of recreational boxers. The monthly fee is reasonable, and you can arrange to train one-on-one with one of the trainers for a fraction of what personal trainers charge in fitness clubs.
If you have lots of $ to spend, and mainly want to burn calories, then I am sure you can find a class or a trainer at one of the franchises mentioned above, or just look in the yellow pages.
Hope that helps.
Rick, wth is BOT? (h=heck)

Vanessa, Just kidding...I was going to mention the Wild Card gym, and also to get on a running and cardio program, if you are not on one already. Good luck!
