Following her routine points win against Diana Prazak last month, Holly Holm was asked in her press conference why she hadn't tried to finish the fight early when Prazak was struggling. She replied that she didn't want to deviate from her fight plan. In other words, she wanted to avoid any kind of punch-up at all costs.
Holm's answer suggests that the psychological scars she suffered in the KO by Mathis in December 2011 run deep. Prazak posed few problems, and the state of her left eye at the end of the fight (ugly, swollen, and completely closed) showed how easily Holm could punish her. Yet she refused to go fully on the offensive.
