Wow-- Mia St.john calls out Christy Martin AND the entire sport of boxing on a TMZ ambush video. www.womenboxing.com/youtube/stjohnmartintmz.htmIt is stunning to hear a fighter take on the sport. It takes a truckload of guts to do that. TD

Both are bad for the sport...both should not allow the door to hit them on the way out of the sport.

Esteban---I have been a huge critic of MSJ when she was fighting for Arum. She was Queen of the Homers, IMO.
When she became a free agent, she began to TALK ABOUT THE INSIDE DEALINGS of the "sport". Those comments were UNREAL BUT TRUE. It is very very rare for any "working" boxer to offer the bitter truth about the sport because the scum-promoters won't hire them ever again.
So for MSJ to talk THAT talk---well, it knocked me out of my chair. She needs to go to Congress and tell the story, NOT TMZ.
She speaks to Congress and she goes down in history. That might even save the sport, IMO. You can fully imagine what would happen to the NFL if it was loaded with "inside" jobs that switched scores so losers became winners and refs went out to dinner with the managers of the winners the night before or some teams got fudged steroid tests and of course "the establishment" explained it all with the rank saying, "That's Football"
I really do applaud MIA for speaking out.

Look at my site.....I offer a hypothesis to what happened with Rolanda Andrews....sadly their is no data to back up but the speculation only the past events of the man involved. Bottom line though this is taking the spotlight from others.

Bottom line though this is taking the spotlight from others. I use to say the same thing but the problem is if people, reporters and the media were never looking at them in the first place, why would they look at them with Mia and Christy out of the way. Don't get me wrong, I think its funny Mia wants revenge, when Kristy Follmar beat Mia crazy and end up with a loss to her record. Christy Martin has been going down hill for a while know and I bet Dakota will beat her this time or get a draw. IF Mia wants to fix the corruption in boxing go get a lobbyist and a lawyer and talk to Congress, I heard that John Mccain is a big supporter of boxing and may be you could get him to help but as far as these ladies go, I don't believe Mia or Christy or Dakota could take on the regulars and tops of their weight class

MSJ is great at grabbing that microphone in the mosh pit of public awareness. CHRISTY VS. MIA #1---totally disagree with Mia on who won. Christy easily beat her. Matter of fact, its obvious that Christy was carrying her...she threw to the body to give MSJ a chance to walk out of the ring. Oddly, I disagree with Mia's contention that the officials in this fight skewed the results while at the same time, MIA knows the inside-outs about skewing the officials. CONGRESS--- trust me, another outrage in boxing will be along any day now. And that pushes Congress to act. Look at baseball---the future perps raising their right hand and swearing, I did NOT take steroids but please don't look at the needle marks in my backside region. YOU CAN"T KILL WHAT IS ALREADY HALF DEAD---boxing tries to kill itself often, but it can't. Why? its half dead. Most fans don't believe its a fair sport. Therefore most potential sponsors don't want anything to do with the sport. Look at NIKE, they love to show athletes shadowboxing in NIKE wear, but they don't sign boxers to endourse their products. POWER TO THE PEOPLE---if Harold Lederman CANNOT judge every fight, then let people judge the fight...hell, that's about 1000 times more interesting than letting some chump on the take skew a card to pad a payday...its ironic; fans pay to judge fights, while today's "judges" get paid to act like fans with their scores. IT WILL NEVER DIE--- fighting is part of our genetic code--it ain't leaving. It might drop down to its lowest level, and as much as it tries to kill itself thru its horrible "sportsmanship parameters" it can't--it will never-ever die. But it needs fixing to grow... Just some random thoughts as Mia St.John grabs the mic and blares out a challenge to the old warhorse while people who weren't listening start to listen and go, REALLY, MIA V. CHRISTY #2??? TD

Well, folks, if Mia and Christy - two old lady boxers - can get it on for the second time, why can't they seem to get Christy and Lucia Rijker finally in the ring for the first time?
I've been harping on that match up for years now and I won't let it die!
Christy seems to be game to have that fight happen, as per her Facebook comments to me, but Lucia has been the chicken ever since the 11th hour pull out on the eve of that 'Million Dollar Ladys' match and has since said nothing about it, despite my best efforts to provoke her to get back in the gym and get it on and get it over with already!
Maybe one of you can do a better job of it than me!

LONGJAB--- you matchmakin arsonist! Just a WAG, but Lucia has too much pride to fight a shabby fight. I think we all know she would jump out back if it was just her and Christy. Further, I think she would be in the gym 6/6 ( 6 days week/ 6 hrs a day) if Laila agreed to fight her.
We have to see how Christy looks in the comeback. The key-- shot boxers hesitate and don't throw, then they get pounded. They end it all with the from the old book of boxing sayings, " I just couldn't get off..."
Christy was a bangin fighter ( you lame ass boxer-dancers take note of that) so it will be interesting to see her punch count and if she still brings it.
My own opinion, I don't think we need to see MSJ V. MARTIN 2---but whenever you see Arum posing for photos with a fighter, you know the ink is dry on a contract, with a contingency paragraph holding the key--Martin has to look good against Dakota!

Jason,
You may remember that it was Lucia and Arum that initially posed the idea at Christy on national TV several years ago, after a fight in which Rijker easily disposed of Mary Ann Almager.
I remember since I watched it!
It was on NBC, I think!

Jason,
It was several years ago - 13 to be exact - in 1998, when Lucia and Arum tried to provoke Christy into the ring while she was still under contract with Don King.
I guess the real problem was Bob Arum and Don King, who couldn't put their egos aside and their heads together and make the fight happen back then.

How do you get Arum and King together?
DROP 50 CENTS ON THE FLOOR BETWEEN THEM.
Coin is the bridge. No Coin---no likee each other. Which was good because at least they had to compete for big name fighters and up and comers. And those fighters earned DECENT payouts . Amazing what 50 cents will do.

Now that Christy has proven that she still has what it takes, dispite the fact that the fight was stopped due to her broken right hand - the hand that dropped Dakota Stone in the 4th beforehand - if Mia St. John thinks she can match up well against Christy in a rematch, I'm wondering if Mia has taken too many punches to the head.
Of course, Mia told me that her and Christy - and Laila Ali - are the only noteworthy women boxers that are laughing all the way to the bank. Well, Laila has since retired and doing Subway commercials, etc.
If Mia thinks she will be laughing all the way to the bank if she gets her desired rematch with Christy, I hope she can do it standing up in lieu of being horizontal, taking in smelling salts to stand up again.

Longjab--did you watch Martin Vs. MSJ #1? Martin carried her, in my opinion. And easily won.
Mia's bank account must be overdrawn and in need of paycheck. Martin would more or less, "kill" her.
Does Martin hit harder than Ms Andrews? YES.
Mia thinks she'll get a break again...well she might, right after Martin clocks her with an overhand right. I hate to say this, but you break the same hand twice, you might break it easier the 3rd time.
Christy is too much of a warrior to stick and move and throw pansy-ass left jabs and try to stay in the fight with one hand. Further, she had the fight taken away from her by the doctor. Not sure about that protocol...I mean, if a fighter is fighting and the injury in question is NOT going to keep them from fighting, doesn't the fight continue?
Maybe Dakota will be a good sportswomen and give Christy the win via a press release. Its an odd way to win-- MY HEAD BROKE HER HAND, I WIN.

TD,
I get it and no, I don't think Mia has a snowball's chance in hell of winning a rematch with Christy Martin, but Christy may let Mia wait in line while Martin-Stone III happens first.
I'll bet Christy would like to fight Stone again, after the way this fight ended.
Actually, you're right about the fight going on.
Do you remember a fight between William Joppy and Julio Caesar Green at MSG back in, I believe the very late 90s?
Joppy finished the fight with one hand being broken, but lost the fight by UD to the lousy homey, Green.
Joppy healed up and evenually had a rematch with him and took the boy to school, dominating him round by round, even though he didn't knock him out.
Joppy won the 12-round championship rematch by UD, sort of like 119-108, with Joppy winning pretty much every round.
So, yes, Christy will probably kick Mia's sorry little butt this time around.

I believe that we are all in harmony and unison when it comes to Mia losing against Christy Martin but I think this is a waist of time to be even discussing this.
