Razor looks sharp against former IFBA champion .... rightcrossentertainment.com/home/?p=56Jennifer “Razor” Barber, of Northridge, Calif., not only put former IFBA titleholder, Adriana Delgado’s comeback on ice, but she sliced and diced the former champion so badly, Delgado’s corner had no choice but to throw in the towel early in round three. It wasn’t so much a case of ring rust, It was more about Barber’s ability to wield her double-edged mitts and live up to her nickname, “Razor.” Delgado was forced on the defensive from the opening bell. Barber’s straight-on aggression, backed by a steady cuffing of jabs and super-sharp right hands, had the former champ seeking refuge all over the ring, to no avail. After regrouping in her corner between rounds, Delgado came out trying to turn the fight around, but Barber turned the one-sided affair from a trimming, to a scalping. The very few counters thrown by Delgado had no effect on Barber, who, not even blinking at Delgado’s close shave counters, was relentless with pressure, and unremitting with her rights and lefts. Delgado came out in the third, her face a bruised and bloody mess, and the punishment continued until, closing in on the first minute, the towel was thrown into the ring. Actually, it wasn’t a towel at all, but an Adriana Delgado T-shirt, and it came not from her corner, but from a very concerned relative, several rows back, who was screaming, “Stop the fight! Stop the fight!” Time was called by Referee Rocky Stapleton, who consulted with Delgado’s chief cornerman, Danny Romero, who spared his fighter further punishment by calling it quits. This time, it was for real. Official time was 1:02, of round three. “I thought I’d win, but not like that,” said Barber, now 7-0, with four kayos. “Seeing that she’s a former world champ, I didn’t think I’d dominate that easily. “But it’s exactly what I needed. I want three more fights, then a shot at a world title.” Her future a question mark, Delgado falls to 10-3-1, 4 KOs, in her return to the ring.

That fight never should have happen, I saw fotos of that fight Delgado really got beat back in to the stone age where she came from. This is a good lesson to many people never challenge the best or you will get beat like the rest. Man Jennifer Barber was so in the zone she almost obiliterated Delgado..wow that is scary..maybe Jennifer should fight some one in Germany lol for their titles lol...now that would be interesting..

Barber is one of the hottest prospects out of the class of 2006 in the US amateurs. She will be ready for top competition with a little more pro experience, and we might see Barber and Garside or Barber and Menzer in the same ring about a year or so on. Barber's quite right when she says she needs a few more pro fights before going for a title, but there's a reason why she's already ranked above Reile in the WBAN featherweight list As for Delgado, she was IFBA bantamweight world champion, but was maybe a tad lucky with her timing. She won the title by defeating Kathy Williams after Kathy took a long layoff after being stopped by Lisa Foster, and after Bridgett Riley had effectively dropped out of boxing. Adriana's opponents prior to beating Kathy were mostly NM and CO regional middle-level fighters. It was a mistake for her to try to come back five years later at featherweight against someone with Barber's background, and I don't know how far she really thought she could go in the era of Menzer and Garside at the top of the division! I hope Adriana calls it quits after this, as the featherweights today are a lot stronger than what she was up against as a bantam in 2003.

I can't wait to see her vs Menzer but i do feel bad for Delgado but it was her own fault, she should have started off small then moved up that way. Maybe know Menzer vs Garside will happen?

Garside vs Menzer could be a Fight of the Year rival for Garside vs Hallback, IMO

Props to my girl Jennifer Barber on her victory. I love her website and she's a cool person. But like I told her, that cup it too high on her waist. I'd love to see her fight Melissa Hernandez for a good contrast in styles... Jen's charging non-stop punching frenzy against Hurucan's dancing speed punching switching awkward style.

Jennifer is a great prospect ... but Hernandez is #1 ranked two weight classes above her. It would be a big step up ...

I know what my logic was. You said you could see her against Garside... Garside is fighting Hallback... Hallback fought Hernandez. Maybe Stacy Reile vs Jennifer Barber... Los Angeles vs Miami!!

A capital No on that idea Stacy didn't even damage Ina, so in other words she would NOt be able to damage Jennifer. Stacy needs to start for the lowest fighters then move up the ladder.

Jennifer Barber has not had that much experience as a pro, Justin... and I believe based on what I saw in the Reile fight vs Menzer that Garside and Barber would beat her badly because she isn't as great as some have stated.

Dierdorff will take on anyone! K. West fights at 118 doesn't she? Dierdorff tried to fight K. West before and her manager said no, but I see that she fights like what 122? Dierdorff fights at 125 can go down a few lbs possible if for the right thing! BUt Dierdorff's team contacted West team for a fight a few times when they were looking for someone to fight and they said no.

I am suprised by that, I guess they are afraid of Dee or not ready for her lol. She, K.west is fighting Elizabeth Virrael. I bet K west will win, more padding on the cushion
