Let me weigh in on this as well.Apparently, Stay Lo does not like me telling her the truth about the facts of life when fighting in Germany, but, hopefully, one of you can confirm to her what I tried to tell her over at MySpace, when she thought I was trying to "Jinx" her and then took me out of her friends pool, again, when I told her to be aware of what the d**n German promoter will try to pull on her, if she gives Menzer a resounding beating, if that were possible. If she knocks Menzer out or beats her within an inch of her life, she may get the decision, but the German promoter will do their do dilligence to try to disqualify Stay Lo, by coming up with some bogus drug test they'll claim she failed, as they did when Trish 'TNT' Hill beat the crap out of Silke Weickenmeier some years back, when she broke her nose and forced Weickenmeier to quit on her stool before or after the 7th round. They can and will try to pull this crap on Stay Lo as well, if she manages to kick the crap out of Menzer, but I can't tell Stay Lo that, because she thinks it's BS on my part! Can one of you enlighten Stay Lo on what could happen in Germany? Thanks for your time and effort.Longjab Stay Lo has to Knock Menzer out. Period. No other outcome will mean anything. She can outland Menzer 3 to 1 and they will say Menzer had more effective( harder) punches. She can knock Menzer down in 4 out of the 10 rounds and still lose on points. She can cut Menzer with a glove and she will get DQ'd. KO OR NOTHING. That's the way they roll and that's what you sign up for when you go to Germany. But wait there's more; Stay Lo will get called for holding WHEN Menzer was doing the holding. Outrageous, but true. KO MENZER OR DIE TRYING. Stacey is a smart lady. She knows that. She's playin it off, hoping Menzer is eating one too many bon-bons and sleeping when she steps in. She staying low and under the radar! TD

Apparently, Stay Lo misunderstands what I am talking about from these remarks that she launched at me @ MySpace:
"u a f'in idiot or what? why would you write that on the forum about pinning a drug test on me and stuff like that?? are you trying to direct negativity toward me? are you trying to give them ideas? keep your fcuking bullshit information to yourself its not doing me or anyone else any good you know it all not a very nice person! forget you even know my name and keep my name out of your mouth especially in the forum involving drug tests and stuff i don't take drugs not a very nice person"
Stay Lo,
Did I ever say you did take drugs?
NO, I DIDN'T!!
What you utterly fail to understand is that these d*mn Germans may try to screw you out of a victory and belt/s over Menzer, by tampering with a mandatory test or two that you'll have to take over there, just as they did to Trysh 'TNT' Hill a few years ago, after she kicked the crap out of Silke Weickenmeier!
Here, read it for yourself from this link:
www.womenboxing.com/biog/thill.htm
You'll find it under February of 2004 and from there.
Hill doesn't take drugs either!
DON'T LET THEM DO THAT TO YOU!
I am on your side here, girl!
Hopefully, now, you'll understand what I'm saying to you; and, if they are looking at this forum, let them, because it will keep them honest and you prepared for anything that may happen in Germany.
Not that it will happen, but it might, as it did to Hill!
BTW, I'm not a know-it-all a**hole, but from the way you're treating me, maybe I'm an all-too-caring a**hole.

I don't know what to say except first I am never meeting Staylo in person lol. Second when staylo said "its not doing me or anyone else any good" that was very inaccurate because you were forewarning her. However with certain people with certain mature levels they need to learn by the methods of nature which means you just need to stay away from her and lets see what happens on the 31st. Third I don't know if Dee wrote this or not but something about this is really weird, well because according to this page: Trisha fought Silk Trisha beat Silk but Silk won Day after fight a paper is issued saying Trisha got doped Was Trisha appeal ever taken serious did they ever do an investigation in to this??? And is Trisha Hill still Alive? and did anybody defend her and what about this Barbara Buttrick??

This is covered in my bio of Trisha Hill ... www.wban.org/biog/thill.htmOn February 14, 2004 at Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany, Trisha TKO'd Silke Weickenmeier of Speyer, Germany in the seventh round to win the WIBF Featherweight Title. As described by Women's Boxing Page correspondent Ewan Whyte, "Trisha Hill broke Silke Weickenmeier’s nose (and with it, her will) with a right that had the full power of her chunky body behind it. The young German was thrown backwards as though she’d been hit in the chest by a shotgun blast. When the bell sounded for the start of the seventh round, Weickenmeier remained on her stool, and the American claimed the world title," Weickenmeier fell to 15-5-3 (1 KO) with the loss. www.wban.org/biog/fightreports/20040214_hill_weickenmeier.htmOn May 5, 2004, WIBF president Barbara Buttrick issued the following press release: "The WIBF has received, from the BDB., an analysis report of urine samples, which showed Trisha Hill as having a substance in her system Norandrosterone - 5 ng/ml. Upon receiving this report we did an extensive research, also confirmed with the World Anti Doping Association that this is an offence against the anti doping rules. We therefore have no other option than to strip Trisha Hill of the World Featherweight Title and return it to Silke Weickenmeier. Although we accept that Trisha Hill did not knowingly take anything illegal, we would warn boxers to thoroughly investigate the probable repercussions of any supplements or medications they may be using." On May 18, 2004, Trisha responded with a press release stating (in part) "Today I have sent an appeal of the decision stripping me of my title to the W.I.B.F world headquarters in Miami, Florida. At such hearing I intend to have my medical experts give testimony about this substance and how the concentration level could have exceeded the 5ng/ml limit. The one thing of which I am certain is I did not knowingly take any supplements or medications to enhance my performance. My performance is based on training and conditioning and not based on any prohibited substances." See www.womenboxing.com/news051804hill.htmI don't recall now whether the hearing ever took place, but Hill was not reinstated as the WIBF champion.

"All of us in the forum want Stacy to beat Ina, there isn't a drop of drama in that."
Well, hate to contradict you, but why do you assume this? I bear neither boxer ill-grudges and would prefer to see the better girl win. I'm pretty neutral in this myself.
Also, I'd like to see some actual statistical evidence of how boxers from other countries can't win in Germany unless by KO. Is hometown (home country) bias here any more pronounced than elsewhere?
German boxers do get dodgy decisions given their way, of course they do. But quite a few of them are pretty d**n strong fighters, and that's something to be taken into account as well.

For all of you that posted your remarks concerning how Stay Lo responded to my concerns for her chances to walk away from Germany with the hardware, thank you for vindicating me!
For a while there, I thought I was the problem, but I now know that it is just a complete misunderstanding on Stay Lo's part.
Let's just hope she can and will beat Menzer and not be subject to some German BS politics, trying to screw her out of her deserved achievement of winning a championship fight in the home of those who hosted her efforts to do so.
Good luck, Stay Lo, despite your misunderstanding of my intentions!
BTW, I'll gladly accept your apology anytime your ready to extend one to me.

No, let's hope that the better fighter on the night gets the win, WHOEVER that fighter is, because THAT is what's best for boxing, not blind partisanship by country, which is what would take over if the people in this Forum who pretend to speak "for all of us" have their way. Let's hope that the better fighter wins. The better fighter, period. Nobody has a "deserved achievement" of winning a championship fight until they actually beat a champion in the ring. Put out the BS in your own politics before you ask for the BS to be removed from someone else's. American BS is no better than German BS, it's all just BS ...

Hill's test came up over a limit for a tested substance, is what it said. How it came to be over that limit was NOT discussed in my article because I did not know. YOU are saying it was tampering, Hill was saying it was not doping. Hill could have taken her case to a hearing, but I do not think that ever happened, and the WIBF stood by its test. If you know more than that, please state your evidence. Otherwise, you are just speculating. (Some might say BS'ing.)

NOW, IT IS UP TO STACEY TO KNOCK IT OUT OF THE JUDGES HANDS AND TAKE HOME MENZER'S BLING.

Calm down TD, and have your nice nursey bring you your other set of pills. There may be fans of actual boxing competition in here, not just people who declare that someone they support has a "deserved achievement" of winning a championship before they have ever fought a top fighter, and that it's going to be hiway robbery by definition if they don't.
This will be Reile's first fight against a capable fighter, let's see who's got what and not talk about her "deserving championships" just by showing up to fight in Germany. She may deserve to win but let's see how she actually fights against Menzer before judging that.

She may deserve to win but let's see how she actually fights against Menzer before judging that. Let me figure this out...YOU root for both fighters? Isn't that a little schizo? Or alot schizo? Pic one. My opinion about German judges already having picked their winner is based on watching a few fights that should have/could have been judged much differently by a fair minded judge. Stacy cannot OUT POINT Menzer...she's very sharp and she knows that. So Knocking out Menzer is the only way to roll in Germany. And stay lo looks like she is in 100% fighting shape. Menzer looks dumpy. But trust me, if Stay Lo takes 7 out of the first 8 rounds, she had better drop Menzer in rounds 9 and 10 and then keep punching till her trainer pulls her off Menzer cuz the SD or UD is going to Menzer. Now about Trisha's beef with the "drug test"...I had exchanged emails regarding it. It was my understanding that the substance that was ID'd as a "banned" "by German dictate" is not banned elsewhere and Tricia had ZERO knowledge that German "laws" were different that OTHER laws. There were a few other suspicious events that made the whole German "drug" test fail the "smell" test. But that would be for Tricia to speak about in length. The point being, YOU CAN ONLY WIN BY A KO IN GERMANY. So while YOU root for both fighters, wear red and blue, run from one corner to the next, I'm rooting for Stay Lo to lay out Menzer like she was $2 trailer park linolium. GO STAY LO! TD

Indeed it would, because unless she got to Germany by being whisked there on one of the transporter thingies out of Star Trek, she knew the fight was going to be in Germany, not elsewhere, so the drug tests would be for what is illegal in Germany. If you're using, and then you agree to fight abroad, then you should check what's legal abroad. I'd be interested to know what the other "suspicious events" were, though. Given how dim it is in your cave with just that li'l CAPS LOCK light on, I an eager to know what exactly you saw from there

Hill was tested for urinary Norandrosterone, at the International Olympic Commitee standard level for females. Norandrosterone test is a standard practise urinary indicator used to detect use of nandrolone steroid, and has been for something like 30 years. There has been quite a bit of research into whether exercise alone can produce this substance innocently. An article in International Journal of Sports Medicine in October 2004 concluded that "the current International Olympic Committee threshold level for nandrolone metabolites is sufficiently high to avoid false positive cases." There might be interactions between heavy training and other supplements that lead to high norandrosterone, and some tall tales have spun by people who've been caught, but it's a much-used and much-discussed test in sports med literature.
So Hill was given a standard IOC test at the standard IOC level for females, whether or not US boxing jurisdictions follow the same practise. Longjab implied that the Germans might be "tampering with a mandatory test". That's criminal if true. Any evidence?
Tom DeNapoli says that Hill didn't know she would be tested for something that's not a "drug" (his quotes). But the test is a long-standing one in Olympic competition, and a lot of track athletes were caught by it in the 90's. Maybe when TD "exchanged emails" with someone (he didn't say who) about this, he got some extra scoop on this. Again, if there's more to the story let's hear the evidence, rather than jump to conclusions without it.
As Marcel pointed out, the purse money's a lot better in Germany now than it is elsewhere, largely due to the successful promotion of women's boxing on the media over there, and as Martin pointed out, there are some pretty d**n strong fighters over there. So American boxers are going to have to get used to going there and playing by German testing rules if they want to try for their share of these big German paydays.

The small promoters I know won't, even if it means selling less tickets and losing money on a promotion. They tell me women cost more than men to put on a card. To me, this is crummy business. Before his show in out-of-the-way Lewes, Delaware, I asked my promoter friend, why not put a female bout on? He told me: costs too much. Well, if he had 300 people there I would be surprised. I am convinced he would have made money had he put a mid-level 6-8 round female fight on, not a championship bout mind you, but a good, solid evenly matched fermale fight. They should take a risk. They might be pleasantly surprised at the turnout.

The more good fights and better fighters come for good balance and fair fight then turnouts will be better. I mean look Fox Sports has women boxing and so does showtime..so or later HBO.. i mean when was the last ppv event for women boxing and it was the head line??

Longjab OK, thanks for clarifying what you meant. In that case, we were almost on the same page, as that's one half of what I meant when I said I hoped the better fighter would win, the other half being the version where Menzer would KO Reile. Either way, I was hoping any issues/questions about the judges would be irrelevant. I was not very hopeful that Reile could "kick the crap" out of Menzer as you put it, because of the big difference in their fight backgrounds (signaled by their WBAN opponent ratings) but I was hoping for a convincing result to avoid another debate how how a title fight was judged.

i just saw the Menzer - Reile fight for myself. neither fighter did much offensively for the first 3 rounds, it wasnt like Reile was getting dominated like what was said in this forum, because neither fighter did much for the first 6 minutes of the fight. i expected to see Reile getting her ass kicked after reading what was posted in here, but then i watched the fight and saw she was doing fairly well until the end of the 3rd round although i know she was holding back because she was pacing herself to go the 10. i saw the rounds alot more close then others did in here. Stacey then got rocked with a right hand AFTER the bell ending the 3rd round. Stacey suffered a broken eardrum from this punch after the bell. blood was coming out of her ear and she heard whistling in her ear from the perferation. then in the 4th round, she got caught with a good punch, but she easily beat the count and she looked steady when she got up. that was when her cornerman stopped the fight. i thought it was a quick stoppage. in a title fight you have to give the fighter every chance to win, or go out on their shield. fighters have come back to KO opponants after losing the early rounds. i know Stacey cant make a case to protest her cornermans quick stoppage, who was a substitute trainer and not her miami trainer (Jorge Rubio) but the fact that she perferated her eardrum from a punch after the bell is a legitamite gripe. Ryan Ryan, it's good to support your friend but to really support her you need to get her to see what really happened in that fight. The third round punch was thrown just before the bell and even if even if it landed late, which I don't think it did, it was thrown at a time when she clearly should still have been defending herself. Her defense went south well before that, as she was leaving herself open with her left elbow crooked and pawing rights that missed because she was at the wrong distance, unlike Menzer who was well timed and placed when she threw. If it was so obvious that her ear was damaged by the punch that was more reason for the corner to ask for the stoppage later. To fight at Menzer's level she has to improve her defense and her punching mechanics. Protesting the circumstantial stuff she's now focusing on will do her no good at all, especially if it distracts her from sorting out her own fundamentals. And it just makes her look like a sore loser.
