I read the comments on wban about Ali fighting Wolfe. If I am not mistaken there has been hype about this fight for years and she is just now comming out with her comments for her fans. How funny. Everyone knows the real deal and that she is ducking Wolfe. And that challenge to Egubine, Ragosina and Robinson, is probably just more hype.

Excuses, excuses, excuses! I won't fight you because I don't like your management, etc. That's the line many boxers use when talking about Don King controled fighters (with some legitamacy since he wants to control your destiny if you win), but I cannot believe that this affects most other fight promotions. Let's face it. Ali will only fight Wolfe when Ann is on her deathbed.

ALI QUACKS LIKE A DUCK!
Once and for all, Laila, it takes TWO fighters to put on a fight and TWO fighters get paid to do that.
GET REAL!!! WOLFE is as BIG A DRAW AS YOU ARE! SERIOUSLY. FACE IT. ITS FACT.
So here's the King Solomon solution; get a promoter to agree on a TOTAL purse, cut that purse into 1/3s. You get 1/3, Anne gets 1/3 and the WINNER gets the last third. Then you promise to shut up for at least 1 year after Anne lays you out.
She Ain't Her Dad and she proves that every single day. The Great Ali knew Frazier had to make a million for him to make a million.

Well, does anyone here think Ali would actually have any kind of a chance in this match-up?

Ali is hoping ANNE will get arthritis just before they fight. Its pretty clear she intends to wait until ANNE retires and then magically, she'll agree that ANNE should get paid REAL money. And if MONEY is the deal-blocker, and it always is, why would ALI turn down a position in a million dollar fight against Lucia Rijker? BOOM. That's right, Lucia would knock her out. So will ANNE.
So keep QUACKING Laila, that's all your "fans" hear whenever you speak about The Wolfe!

Wolfe has always had, and continues to have, a "puncher's chance" against Ali. However, too much, much too much, was, and has been, made of Wolfe's KO of Vonda Ward, a plodding, slow handed fighter with erector set movement who came within an eyelash of getting, subsequently, knocked out by a 3-3 fighter.
Ali has avoided Wolfe simply because Wolfe is not a "sure thing" and Ali's career has been entirely composed of "sure things". The lone quality fighter Ali has faced, Valerie Mahfood, was tailor-made for a tall fighter (see Mahfood/Lenhart) and the rest of the "competition" has been mediocre, at best (please don't bring up Ali/Frazier, a bout that only exceeded the low expectations of two "famous daughters" at the beginning of their careers, make that career).
Should Ali/Wofe happen? Sure and Mr. Touchdown actually has a pretty good idea for purse distribution. But, if Wolfe fails to get Ali with a big punch in the first couple of rounds, you can turn your sets off, because the remainder of the bout will be Wolfe, tiring as the fight progresses, at the end of Ali's jab. Ali might even stop Wolfe in the late rounds. More likely a lopsided decision.

Bernie,
Of all of Laila's fights, Frazier exposed her weakness the most. She wanted to quit. And Jacqui is NOT a big hitter.
Laila has NO real opponents out there except Wolfe...she's afraid of Rijker more than Wolfe. She walked away from a million dollar payday with Rijker because she claimed it was too easy? Then she took a couple of hundred thou to fight much weaker opponents?!?!?!
Wolfe has always been short on steam in the later rounds, so YES, your prediction of DANCE FEVER, with ALI providing all the DANCE and Wolfe provided all the FEVER is correct. I see Ali V. Shavers #2! Yes Anne is the Earnie Shavers of women's boxing. And NO, that is no based on one KO.
But more telling, Sunshine, has calibrated both Anne and Lucia stated that LUCIA HITS HARDER.
What's more laughable, every time I read one of Laila's "public messages" to her fans, I have to conclude that her fans are all lawyers!

Some of it makes sense Tom, but you still forget all the girls RIJKER ducked. Same nuts. Plus I think Rijker would never beat Ali. Put them next to eachother. Not to overcome. Valuev can't fight much, but his size is a huge factor.

I'd rather see Wolfe and Leatitia Robinson slug it out. That is a true fight fans fight if you ask me.

It would be Ali's biggest test but unless Wolfe catches Ali napping early on in the bout with a big punch I'd say Laila wins this inside the distance.
