for those of you who dont know, Bahrain is a very wealthy little country in the middle east, and it is one of the few 'friendly' countries in the region. Michael Jackson was mootching off of Bahrain's king for a while recently. i just sent a proposal to some people in Bahrain. there are a number of fights that i have been wanting to put together, or see happen, for a while now. and this might be my way them happen. i proposed an all-female fight card, with 5 world title fights: Laila Ali vs Iljeoma Egbunine WIBA, WIBF, & WBC Light Heavyweight World Titles Mary Jo Sanders vs Christy Martin WIBA & WBC Welterweight World Titles Kara Ro vs Mia St John WIBA & IFBA Lightweight World Titles Chevelle Hallback vs Jelena Mrdjenovich WIBA & WBC Super Featherweight World Titles Alicia Ashley vs Melinda Cooper WIBA Super Flyweight World Title this would be a blokcbuster event, televised worldwide on PPV. i have never dealt with anyone from Bahrain before, but they seem willing to listen to my proposal. and i know they have the resources to do anything they want. i was bummed about the Dubai fight getting cancelled. this would make up for that cancellation, if it were to happen. being that this is a totally neutral site for all fighters involved, there would be no hometown advantages for anyone. this would be an ideal site for these bouts. i will let you guys know what i hear back from them. Ryan,
What's the status of the L-1 tournament in Japan? It was scheduled to start in May.

for the Phillipines, we are working towards a date of July 15th for the all-female fight card in Manila.
L-1 may be pushed back a few months. the japanese raised alot of sponsorship money for this event, but there is some issue regarding the TV rights for the tournament. the japanese said they would contact each fighter directly to update them on the status of the tournament. it will happen, its just a question of exactly when. the Phillipines fight will definately happen. July 15th is the date i am targeting, but you know if boxing it is not unusual for fights to be rescheduled. as far as Japan, i've been there 4 times for various events, and i am looking forward to the L-1's opening round. i am being flown in for that as well. AND i am sanctioning a title fight in China in a few weeks, i am excited about that. womens boxing is blowing up right now in Asia, and i am doing my best to keep the momentum going in that part of the world. many asian countries have AWESOME female amataur boxing teams, including the Philippines. something funny is that even though pro boxing for women was illegal until just recently, amateur womens boxing has been doing well there and has been legal for a while. the filipino womens boxing team is very strong, and always wins metals in the regional tournaments that take place in that part of the world. July 15th is the tentative date for Manile, and we want to do 2 world title fights. 1 with Elena Reid hopefully fighting Maria Jesus Rosa for the vacant WIBA Flyweight World Title (Melinda Cooper is vacating this title to move up in weight.) and the second world title fight, assuming Goodnight accepts this fight, will be Hollie Dunaway making the 2nd defence of her WIBA Minimumweight World Title against Sarah Goodson. we also want to get Mia St John for this show if we can afford her. Dee Dufoe has pledged to help me organize this event. i am not pushing her to come back, but if she wanted to come back, i can get her the fight hook-up in Manila. she was the very first world class female boxer from the Philippines, so she is a pioneer in the sport for her native land. i think thats pretty cool and so does she 1 of the 3 commissioners that run boxing in the Philippines is my WIBA representative for his country. so i feel confident in saying this all-female show WILL happen in Manila sometime this summer, or at the latest in the early fall. i love this job, i get to travel all over the world, put together some great fights, and make some history at the same time RYAN www.wiba-boxing.com

Ryan When the fight happens, you can bet you being a member of Team Dunnaway that you will have nothing to do with officials like you have bragged to Hollie about, I believe Sarah will knock her silly Just like she did with 16 oz gloves in the Gym , But you never know, So you ( The President of the Hot Stuff fan Club )Will be incharge of nothing , other than putting the belt around Sarah's waste , That is if you even have anything to do with the fight .I was gonna promote a show in Cebu the first of June , But Sarah is fighting Holly Shores in Ft.Smith Arkansas on the tentative date of June 3rd ,And after that we got the Heavy Weight Slug Out 3 in late July also in Ft.Smith. So July for sure is out, But if the promoter call's me , I am sure we can work something out, But you will not be making any boxing business decisions. So please Pipe down little man ! "Goodnight"

Ryan When the fight happens, you can bet you being a member of Team Dunnaway that you will have nothing to do with officials like you have bragged to Hollie about,
==Hollie will not have any unfair advantage fighting your wife in your wife's home country. AND she will be given a drug test after the fight, if the fight happens.==
I believe Sarah will knock her silly Just like she did with 16 oz gloves in the Gym , But you never know,
==the fight would have 8 oz gloves.==
So you ( The President of the Hot Stuff fan Club ) Will be incharge of nothing , other than putting the belt around Sarah's waste ,
==if Sarah fights Hollie and wins, yes i will be in charge of putting the belt around her waist. you are Sarah's manager and you have the last say in any decisions regarding her career, so lets not go there again. ok?==
That is if you even have anything to do with the fight .I was gonna promote a show in Cebu the first of June ,
==bullshit. like Top Rank was gonna have Sarah fight on the Manny Pacquiao undercard?==
But Sarah is fighting Holly Shores in Ft.Smith Arkansas on the tentative date of June 3rd ,And after that we got the Heavy Weight Slug Out 3 in late July also in Ft.Smith. So July for sure is out, But if the promoter call's me , I am sure we can work something out, But you will not be making any boxing business decisions.
==i am the one organizing the event, so yes i will me making many of the boxing decisions. and if you choose not to be involved with this event, we will still have Elena Reid and the rest of the show, and the show will still go on.==
So please Pipe down little man !"Goodnight" ==i speak loudly and i can. if you turn down fight in Manila, you wont be offered another fight there by me or my people in the future. i want Sarah on this show but i dont 'need' her. the choice is yours.== RYAN

Then Bye Bye Ryan,,,,, Get lost , I never said that she was fighting for sure on the card , I did talk to Bruce at Top Rank and Pete Susan's , But Pac-Man is not fighting Eric Moralis in the Philippines so the will be no Co-Prpmotion in the Philippines, Plus if you got anything to do with it then Dunnaway can get KO'd another day , and as far as the Steriods , Sarah say' she want's her to do them , But me on the other hand , I would want a tset to be taken , Just to be sure. And I though you (Team Dunnaway)wanted the doping thing droped . Why do you keep bringin it up.

i got this email back from Bahrain:
Ryan Thanks for your prompt reply, Women's Boxing is something we have not considered to date, and I am not sure their would be a real appetite within Bahrain, However, I am aware that Bahrain has some real fight fans, who may well fund such an event With regards to Casinos, I must draw to your attention the fact that Bahrain is a Muslim country, and therefore Gambling is most certainly not permitted. I would also suggest that if we were to proceed, we would look to structure a commercial deal that represented a return for Bahrain through TV and Ticketing. I will make some enquiries and revert to you in a week's time Kind regards

How does a post on a proposed card in Bahrain get mixed with another card in Manila, then turn into a pissing match between Goodnoght and Ryan? Please people, start a different thread! I agree with Len. Parts of this thread had degenerated into an off-topic "pissing match" between two posters who want to be "respected" by the women's boxing community but who apparently can't resist heaping foul-mouthed abuse on each other. As part of the purpose of moving to this Forum was to try to clean up "barnyard" behavior, I've deleted the bad-langage posts and those of some groupies who were starting to cheer them on. I'm also declaring this thread closed now that Ryan has posted the reply that he got from Bahrain. If you want to pick up on the Bahrain, L-1 or Philippines topics, please start a new thread.
