This is to remind the registered Forum members that this Forum includes a personal messaging system. You can use it to send private messages to other members without having to know their email addies. Personal messages are not displayed as posts in the Forum, but the member will be told that they are waiting to be read privately when they next log in.
To send a personal message to another Forum member, click on any Forum link to the member's name. You will then see the member's Forum profile. Up at the top right of the profile display is a link saying "Send Personal Message".
Clicking on this link will open up a new page with a text box into which you can type a message text, using HTML tags if you wish. The message will be sent when you click on the rectangular "Send Personal Message" button below the message text box.
Whenever you log in to the Forum, you are notified of any personal messages for you that are waiting to be read, at the very top of any page that's shown to you after you log in. Click on the links in those notifications to read from your whole message index, or just from the new messages that you have not read yet.
You can also set up your Forum profile to be notified by email if there are any new personal messages waiting for you on the Forum.
You can reply to personal messages by clicking on the "reply" or "quote" icon when you are reading them (these options lt you reply with or without quoting text from the incoming message).
You can also archive your incoming and outgoing personal messages and download them to your own computer if you want to keep a record of them. (To see the list of all your outgoing (sent) messages, click on the outbox icon while reading any incoming message or the whole incoming message list.
This personal messaging system is a good way to have a private conversation with another Forum member if you do not know their email addie.
