POINT UNO: how can one not believe in "The Boxing Gods?" I shall now refer to you as "Jason the infedel." POINT DOS: I don't have anything against Gerula. I was just making fun of her stupid looking hair. It ain't what I call "professional." As for the 2nd fight, it would be awesome for it to be as exciting as Nava-Torres II, with both women competing at the top of their skills and desire. It should be the best dust-up in women's boxing for the month of September. from the Toronto Sun >> Friday 08.26.2011 by Kirk Penton, Winnipeg Sun GERULA 'READY TO THROW SOME FISTS LOCAL BOXER STILL BITTER OVER LOSING TITLE "I'm still slightly bitter," Gerula said with a slightly maniacal laugh. "I'm ready to go. Enough with the chit-chatting. I'm ready to throw some fists." The 32-year-old spark plug is heading to Sweden, where she will fight local lass Frida (Golden Girl) Wallberg for the 2nd time in nine months and once again for the WBC female super featherweight title. Wallberg, 28, has the belt after taking it from Gerula last November in a title match that took place in Sweden in front of 9,000 spectators. Gerula has steadfastly maintained she won that scrap - Wallberg won by UD - and it has her plenty motivated going back across the pond for the rematch. "She didn't beat me on her own," Gerula said. "She beat me with three judges and a santioning body with an agenda." www.torontosun.com/2011/08/26/gerula-ready-to-throw-some-fistsIf Gerula feels that way, then let's see if she can walk-the-walk once the fight starts. as for Wallberg, she says she is trained and ready to defend her title. One interesting apple that has fallen from the tree, Mikaela Lauren has challenged Wallberg to a "Super-Fight" to see which one is the best women's boxer in Sweden. Lauren is fighting on the undercard that night.

Also I believe that God probably boxes but not boxing gods lol, I agree with gerula that wbc has an agenda, which is to market itself in sweden, i mean sweds got the money an boxing sanctions dont want to eat dirt, canada has great female boxers but none of them want wbc titles or fight for them lately!Frida is a monster, I wonder how gerula will respond or fight off frida? I do agree that this is the best fight in September so far as i know!

This is shaping up to be a great dust-up between Gerula and Wallberg! this is from a ((translated)) story on mobil.nwt.se Wallberg says she is stronger and hits harder than when she fought Gerula last fall. Wallberg vows to "give Olivia Gerula a boxing lesson this time." When asked what is Gerula's weakness, Wallberg says, "she's not a boxer!" Wallberg feels she clearly won the 1st fight. "I had the most clean hits." As for Gerula, the Swedish boxer says the Canadian slugger has lots of dirty tricks in her arsenal. Sweden's "Golden Girl" is happy that the rematch will be a 10 round contest. She says she gets better the longer fights continue, and she intends to use this to her advantage. Having worked with a new training team of Pierre Jardenheimer and Niklas Eriksson since May, Wallberg says she has taken her training for this fight to the next level. Her team is super confident that Wallberg will win on Sept. 3. The judges will be from Sweden, Canada and France. so there you have it. Gerula is ready to let her fists fly and is bitter about the outcome of the 1st meeting with Wallberg. And Wallberg says she is stronger, hitting harder and is going to give one of Canada's finest "a boxing lesson." If the actual fight is as good as the war-of-words leading up to 9-3-11, strap on your seat belts, because Gerula vs. Wallberg II is gonna be a wild ride. fridawallberg.com/there was no set-up, no frame-up, no dirty shenanigans etc. Wallberg won the 1st meeting. She (did) land the harder, cleaner, crisper punches. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBJ7Dk42his&feature=related

Now this is very cool to see. Olivia Gerula has arrived in karlstad, Sweden - and her mother Connie made the trip with her too. www.nwt.se/multimedia/dynamic/00585/751649_jpg_585183img699.jpgthe story at nwt.se ((translated)) says that Connie is very proud of her daughter and full of confidence that Olivia will win back her belt on Saturday. Connie goes on to say, "Olivia got mugged and lost the belt here in Sweden last year." Olivia says, "I might as well have sent the belt with FEDEX to Sweden and spared me the trip." Olivia says she has over a 100 sparring rounds in the last 3 months in preparation for this 2nd fight with Wallberg. there was another picture of Olivia's arrival - but I can't get it to post.... and here is a video - interview with Olivia taken after her arrival in Karlstad. VERY GOOD VIEWING!!!!!! please watch nwt.se/webb-tv/article958902.eceDee, you should see if WBAN would want to post this - so that more people can get to see it.

VERY GOOD VIEWING!!!!!! please watch nwt.se/webb-tv/article958902.eceDee, you should see if WBAN would want to post this - so that more people can get to see it. Todd- I watched Olivia flumox Kathy Collins for 10 rounds and lose on points, even though she landed more and was more effective---at the time she was coming off a KO loss to Bridgette Riley in kickboxing...the point, Olivia figured out a way to fight to neutralize Collins. At the time Kathy was known as a banger, was undefeated and heading for her showdown with Christy Martin...but little ole Olivia was switching up, flipping her feet around in mid-punch, slipping and throwing, jumping in and banging, dodging out and jabbing...truthfully, she drove Collins nuts as it was hard to get a glove on her. My point, Olivia is a gamer who will do what it takes to be competitive, no matter who she fights. So it could be a good fight. Problem is, Olivia does NOT have a punch, so Wallberg can just run her down and throw for the fences without a worry---she could run full gallop into Olivia's over hand right and it won't hurt her. But everyone knows that. Including Olivia. While Olivia has NO punch, she has a ton of heart and desire and a very odd ability to do exactly what drives her opponent nuts, no matter who that is. If I was training Wallberg---just throw baby, don't stop...you'll catch her. If Olivia stopped squaring in up so much, she might have be able to put some pop on a shot...but she jumps around too much. Anyway, I don't see a different outcome unless they let Olivia use electrical tape soaked in plaster of paris inside her gloves. TD

TD, your analysis of the match-up for this fight is exceptional. EXCEPTIONAL!!! Sometimes you miss the bullseye by a mile - but on this occasion, you simply obliterated the bullseye. Not a word do I find that I can disagree with. Wallberg will retain her belt and Gerula will have a long flight back home. Perhaps when Olivia gets back to Canada, she can hang this up on a wall of her choosing. www.backpacking.se/grfx/MemberPictures/sweden_sucks3.jpg

Todd--I have never missed a bullseye.
Don't count Olivia out...as I also said, she has a unique ability to adjust and sort bounce in and out while flailing away...big difference--she is NOT a homer and has NO promoter.
You put her with a solid local promoter who can arrange home town decisions, influence judges, sway refs, refuse to let opponents see her fists get wrapped--- she goes undefeated forever.
But that is NOT her thing...she goes anywhere for a fight. You have to give Olivia props for that. Not a "yellow" hair on that "blond" head of hers!

I am not suprised, well actually Frida did not ko Gerula which is pretty amazing, I heard in a recent story that Frida got another trainer for the fight! Gerula shouldnt be upset but should just regroup, she is in the top 5 of the super featherweights, i wonder who would be a good match for her? Rhonda luna? Wallberg is a dangerous fighter but the thing no one is thinking about is: Who is gonna go to Sweden an fight Frida?
