Folks,
As most of you know by now, the slick Lenny Fresquez managed to lure Anne Sophie Mathis to New Mexico as his guest to watch Holly Holm's latest boring fight - a fill-in rematch of Victoria Cisneros for Cindy Serrano, who had to pull out due to an injury.
What I do not understand is how or why Mathis would ever agree to fight Holly Holm on Holm's home soil of New Mexico for this 'World Dominance' card!
It should be more appropriately called the 'Homeland Dominance' card, being that this fight is once again going to be in Holly's homeland, as if no other place in the world would suffice, including Las Vegas, NEVADA or even a 'halfway' venue of MSG or one of the casinos in Atlantic City!
Do you mean to tell me that Lenny doesn't have the connections to get his piece of the pie in some other venue in the world?
Look, if Holly Holm is as good as Lenny and the rest of New Mexico think she is, then she should be able to fight this one somewhere else in the world, if you are going to call it, 'World Dominance', right?
If I were Anne Sophie Mathis, I scrubbed this match, unless the venue can be renegotiated for somewhere else in this world!
As things are presently set up, there is no guarantee that Mathis will have a FAIR opportunity to win the match without any political shenanigans or biases in favor of 'Homey Holly'!

Longjab LJ--- a couple of peanut gallery thoughts... 1- you are right, fighting HOLLY in ALBQ. is crazy and zero chance for a Decision win. ZERO! 2- maybe Mathis gets VETO say on Judges ( yeah, I know, illegal but camon, this is New Mexico) 3- Mathis is likely being paid more than Holly ( yeah I know, doubtful but possible) 4- Mathis knows she will knock Holly out. ( yeah she knows this too). 5- Mathis has a HOME-AWAY clause in the contract for a required rematch ( possible) 6- NOTE to Mathis---you have to train for 4 weeks at altitude to even hope to come close to fighting that way. Go to the ALPS to train, then come down to 5,200 feet in New Mexico 7 days before the fight....this is a super sneaky advantage that Holly has in ALBQ but one you can use. So the match up of WILL which is what many would call style---Mathis always IMPOSING her will, very busy, landing often, moving forward and never-ever giving Holly a second to breath, Holly running and countering...big advantage to Mathis in a neutral venue, but in ALBQ??? Mathis has to KO Holly. No other way around it. It won't be good enough to drop Holly in every round, or 4 times over the fight as Mathis would lose that fight. The ONLY possible way Mathis can win is by TKO / KO. TD

How many fights of this caliber will ever be in the US, Male or Female? Let alone this year of 2011? You guys know Fresquez may not give Mathis a fair break then why not buy tickets and support Mathis? Why not write her a letter or facebook to show support, I may dislike Fresquez for some of his stupid fights including ones featuring Victoria punching bag Cisneros, but atleast this time he brought a real fighter and champion for his state of New Mexico, that is something for the history books.
I believe Mathis can tko Holm, she tko'd Myriam Lamare and I believe she knocked down Lamare in her second fight as well and she can do it to Holm.

Holm vs. Mathis will be, as Jason says, "SOMETHING FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS." This WILL be the best women's bout we have seen yet! Let me repeat that, "This will be the best women's bout we have seen yet!" newmexicoboxing.com has posted some top-notch pics from the Holm-Cisneros rematch. mega-thanx to Chris Cozzone for capturing the action. Holm looks like she could take on GODZILLA and reduce him to nothing but a big, crying and bruised lizard. www.newmexicoboxing.com/fights2011/06-route66.htm

Call me when national news and national websites like MSN, Yahoo have that in their headlines and even fox sports and cnn. I am glad someone is covering this story but i will be happy when more big outlets start putting on the spotlight for this fight for the the sake of Mathis, Holm, Fresquez, and New Mexico and USA and boxinginga
