Wow, that's a head turner if it lasts! I can't remember a pure boxer, going right to MMA and doing well. Even a solid Muy Thai fighter turning MMA faces a whole new dimension off the feet that is hard to adjust to for many stand up fighters.
But its also a dead end because really the only fighter in MMA in Holly's weight would be Cyborg! I don't think anybody really wants to fight Cyborg. I saw Marloes clock Cyborg with a money-shot right hand ( not everything she had but close), the shot moved Cyborg but not all that much. Marloes shot would have leveled Mathis even in 8 ounce gloves. IMO.
I get that Holly wants challenges and world wide cred. She should.
But they way to do it is create at least a 2 fight agreement, home-away for both fighters. And Braekus is not the fighter to do that with. Sorry guys but I don't see all that much from her.
Mathis is! Watch Mathis v. Lamare #1---it was frazier - ali, hearns-hagler all the way. My own opinion, it was stopped prematurely although Lamare can really seem gassed on occasions.
Mathis v. Holm in France and New Mexico--- now that would be a challenge for both ladies AND boost women's boxing.
CHAMPIONS FIGHT THE BEST.

TD Here is where I stand on what you are saying Lamare fought against Holm in New Mexico, I don't know if Lamare would return to New Mexico however after Nadia Hokmi's recent fight I think Mathis would rather the fight be in France to boost France's women boxing scene. Mathis wants a fight in Europe not in America, from what I have gathered I think she wants a superfight with super publicity. Mathis and Lamare in my opinon are trying to boost France boxing scene because their boxing scene is very similar to America and worse. Holm is most likely to fight Braekhus, I don't know about Mathis but the best thing to do is write to Newmexico boxing or boxing writers and newspapers about why in detail you want to see Holm fight the best.

Jason---I think you are right about Mathis in France and Holly in NMex...they both want HOME bouts. THOSE REASONS are exactly why I proposed they fight 2 fights-- home and away for each fighter. Mathis and Lamare are the top of ALL boxing, not just French. Not sure about promoting France but most fighters making money are fighting with ONE promoter and IN their own backyard. So the world wide acceptance of the sport is reduced to a few select pockets of fan support. I can't imagine an ALI or LOUIS saying, " I won't fight Frazier in NYC" or " I won't fight Schmeling in Germany"... The solution-- a two fight event that pulls in world-wide interest. If you want to help FRANCE or NEW MEXICO---then win a world wide event. But if you want just an OK paycheck, then stay at home. Cyborg fights anywhere BUT home. She's world-wide now. So is Marloes Coenen and Erin Toughhill ( she's next up for Cyborg and that could be a great fight) TD

I hope to call you, to work for me when I get myself a boxing promotion, you and Todd and rick and any others.

Sounds great, Jason! TD: who is up next for Cyborg? Toughill or Coenen? Interesting question... Coenen fought Cyborg and lost, then dropped down to 135 and looked like a world beater when she submitted Sarah Kaufman. Coenen was KO'd by both Toughill and Cyborg...against Toughill she was almost 15-20 pounds lighter. So I see her fighting at 135 and NOT Cyborg's weight. If I was running Strikeforce, I would get Erin a few fights and build her up and INTO a Cyborg showdown. Erin is really a great MMA fighter with a strong array of skills ( either up or down). A great double, semi-headliner undercard would be La Rosa V. Coenen (130- 135 catch) and Toughill V. Cyborg ( 145-149 catch) I am guessing here, but I believe there will be greater roid testing for MMA fighters. Alot of people are unofficially pointing fingers and carping to various states. The other thing everybody is really looking at is ZUMA's profits from the UFC franchise. Right now, my regular MMA show model ( non-UFC) shows about 20-28% of total gross going to all fighters, about 40-55% going to the promoter and the balance to expenses, depending on the show. The UFC does a great job in motivating fighters with KO of the Night, Fight of the Night, Fastest KO cash bonus' in addition to their purse. Nice drivers for plenty of action. The model I like is an winner take all purse with an expenses purse paid to both fighters. You talk about motivating action!! TD
