:-*so with just a few weeks left before 2011 kicks 2010 out onto the street, here is my favorite sports moment of the past year. Was it the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa? It was kinda fun, but it wasn't even close to being my favorite moment in sports. Was it the June NBA Finals between Boston and LA? Congrats to the Lakers and Phil Jackson for winning what seemed like his 25th NBA title - but it didn't make me feel anything. Sort of a been here, seen this before "ho-hum" feeling. Was it the spectacle of watching the UCLA Bruins crush the Longhorns of Texas in football, in Austin. Mighty enjoyable for sure, but still not tops. The Best Moment in ALL of sports for me in 2010 was watching Garside defeat Menzer on July 3rd - in Germany. It ranks as number ONE. Nothing else comes close to it for 2010. Garside was standing on top of the world that day. so this goes out to Jeannine. Crank it up!!!!!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6U7OOFvRmc&feature=related

She won the fight right there and then!

just thought I'd add this to the thread. From the March 2011 issue of "The Ring" magazine - "The Bible of Boxing"
MALE FIGHTER of the YEAR: Sergio Martinez His KO of Paul Williams was also "KNOCKOUT of the YEAR."
FEMALE FIGHTER of the YEAR: Holly Holm Holly just keeps winning this year after year. With both Mathis and Braekhus wanting a chance to beat Holm, hopefully Holly returns to boxing soon.
FEMALE FIGHT of the YEAR: Jeannine Garside vs. Ina Menzer. Both Jeannine and Ina deserve equal credit for the best fight of 2010. The best taking on the best and not hiding behind excuses about money and where the fight was going to be held. They are both champions in my eyes.

Jason,
Now, there is one thing I agree with you on. The fight between Garside and Menzer was the most satisfying women's match in all of 2010 for me.
