After the mess in Albq. , let all fans HOPE that Kaliesha V. Kasha makes the cable cast on ShowTime's boxing cable cast.
Kasha can fight, Kaliesha is a mega-banger with great speed, conditioning and power. In other words, DYNO-MITE.
If they really really ROCK IT HARD, BANG LIKE ALL GET OUT, it could make the cablecast. But it has to be a great fight. On paper it looks dam great! And Gary Shaw IS a smart promoter. He would NOT let a fight just happen. He wants to see a GREAT FIGHT and GREAT SHOW.
Fans like action, fans like skill, fans like conditioning and fans really like an even- all out WAR. You give that to FANS, they remember, they talk and most of all, they BUY more tickets the next time you fight.
From WBAN: " Kaliesha West, who Shaw believes has the kind of skills you should expect in a fighter, has included her for a second time on his card. Shaw said "We don't put on a sideshow here, this girl can fight." West will face Kasha Chamblin, who was not present at the press conference. West promised another action packed fight. "Ask anyone who has seen me fight, I put on a good show. Come out and see what I can do....I will show you that the women can fight just as good as the men can!"
What is sad, you have a full fledged woman's boxing site, WBAN. Do they do fight previews with background? NO.
This speaks to Yvonne's sort of depressing post that a female fighter is really a lonely fighter, even when they win titles or major bouts.
I still go back to Christy Martin on SI after her fight with Gogerty, which was on a Tyson fight card. Who got the cover? Christy did. Why? She proved to be a total all out warrior, bloody nose and all. If you saw that fight, Gogerty took some amazing shots, and alot of them. But she landed a few punchs, one of which broke Christy's nose. I think I had Christy winning easily but she kept throwing for a knockout down to last 10 seconds. Fans remembered that.SI should did and that's ONE reason she got the cover, NOT Tyson. I can't even remember who Tyson fought on that card. In my living room, Christy OPENED up alot of eyes to the incredible potential of dedicated women warriors. The sport owes her, not the other way around as I hear so often from women's boxing fans.

I don't know about this match Kasha Chamblin to me isn't qualified for this match she has face half baked opponent, she didn't get a wake up call from losing to Ina in front of a billion Germany people and around the world
Kaliesha didn't beat Rolanda Andrews, i heard the decision was controversial decision. Kaliesha faced Ava "The Knight" she should face someone more close to her level but determining level can be very difficult. Kaliesha is young also talented and so is Ava is about the same age but the difference between Ava she is fighting the best while Kaliesha handles the rest. Ava is the real deal, even though she got rocked and rolled by Ana, she to me has proven to be the best young new female boxer in America. When people see Ava they know she is the real deal and when she gets better I hope to see her working harder and This is a champion who i think will really do boxing proud.
I am more looking forward to see Chika Nikamura back in action, Gloria Ramirez has had two fights in the year and now three. Gloria should be able to give Chika a real run for her money.

Kasha was defeated Lisa Lamb.... What two boxers have both defeated Lisa Lamb? I noticed that Esteban that both Celina and Christina both boxers beat Lisa. Even though kasha could have got robbed in her match with Lisa Lamb, if you just mark Lisa's name off Kasha's record. -First i don't like to criticize every match that shows up, -Second when you can predict the winner of a match, its not even worth wasting the money on it or attention. =I agree with Sue's article that many women boxers have come along way from her era and just having some matches is an accomplishment, however their was a reason certain people flew instead of buying online to see Melissa vs Holly, no matter what people say. People can tell a good match from a bad one. -I do hope both boxers do well and for a shock that Kasha wins would be good if it a fair win of course but its highly unlikely, Kaliesha will lose this the match because just like kina she won a match against the same type of opponent. Even though I do give some points the opponents for taking the fight and never running away. There is a difference between sideshows and grand performance. They both cause attention but one gets attention, respect, awe and admiration for generations while the other is just something to watch, laugh, sigh and forget. Everybody always want to prove something especially in this sport with female and i admit i am no expert at this sport but the people who want to change the sport never say it, they always prove it.

Call this personal bias....hottest action Thursday night will be in San Antonio We'll everything has a certain amount personal bias in it. Reviewing some of the fights that are happening right know in December, i would hate to say that this might be the best fight of December. What makes celina vs Christina interesting is alot of things like what they have accomplish in the past, the fact that Christina got knocked out by Amanda Serrano. The fact that both christina and celina both beat some of the same opponents and the fact that they know each other and the question they and others are thinking, which is "who is the best". That one question will drive them to do their best and to show each other that their serious they will take this fight probably to the next level. Ragosina fighting in heavy in Russia for the first time is interesting a but this will be a typical Ragosina fight, with most of the Ragosina elements which means this fight Ragosina has the best team money can buy This is in Russia and Ragosina is a russian which means she has hometown advantage. Ragosina will more likely dress up in some weird attire . Ragosina's opponent has not fought in 2009 meaning she has ring dust and her opponent She lost to Gwendolyn O'Neil aka Laila Ali's punching bag. This opponent stinks of an easy win for Ragosina. Even though it would be nice if ragosina got beat, or ko'd, this will not happen and it is highly unlikely. Wang ya Nan's WBC/Wiba australian fight against Charity Mukami WBC/wiba make easy fights for one person, so this fight is not worth any one's attention.

I am shocked and sadden for both fighters that the fight got cancelled. did the fight get cancel because of the wieght or something else? i think it was td that reminded me that fighters do sacrife alot of time and materials, also energy to make each fight happen. Hopefully they will be compensated or this fight will be rescheduled.

Chamblin had a detached retina. I don't know when or how this was discovered. She apparently seemed ok at the presser so it might have been very late showing up.

I hate to say this but all boxers have an amount of time and when that time is gone your done. You have to train and use your time wisely. Some boxers have the horrible luck of not getting fights however this is why i say that the boxer themselves should be the initiator all the time because their life in real and boxing is to a certain amount of time. you must set goals on where you want to be in the sport and who you want to fight because time waits for no man or woman. time is your greatest friend and foe for anyone and anything for any reason.

More details came in from Lori Steinhorst, see www.womenboxing.com/NEWS2009/news121409chamblin.htmand indeed the problem appears to have been diagnosed first during Chamblin's pre-fight medicals.

No way should Kasha Chamblin be fighting, even in headgear. A jolt or blow to the head can cause a detachment.
In a side note, Bridgette Riley once fought with contacts in. She was hit repeatedly thru a tough bout and the contacts were POPPED out, in the ring. The ref stopped the fight and gave the win to Bridgette's opponent. Bridgette eventually had eye surgery to correct her vision issue. But the story is a classic regarding what a bad-ass Baby Doll was. You talk about potential vision problems!
Kasha I hate to say this, but look at what happened to Sugar Ray, he had a potential detached retina problem and he tried to fight but he was NO WHERE near the same. The same thing could happen to you, you hesitate and or worry about the bad eye. Then something bad is bound to happen.
