Is there a match in 2009 you really wanted to see? Now that 2009 is almost over we are going to review this year and some people are going to say the years best matches. Now we all may agree on what was the years greatest disappointment but what could we really say was the most anticipated matches? Are there ten, twenty, thirty or less than 5. I looked at most of the matches that were happening dec 4th besides Melissa vs Holly there was Ana vs Donna then Kina vs Lydnsey that were also headlining but who really wanted to see those?? I posted this to see what you the people forum thought and to find someone who could prove me wrong. List your favorite match and why.

Thank you rick for being the only one to reply but the gist of this article in the forum is to ask which fight did you like the best this year. However if any of yall want to write what fights you want to happen next year then that is fine as well. However I will tell you this rick, first if this fight were to happen, i believe Ina would win again but this time legally. Ina has consistently been fighting in the ring however Sandy has not. Sandy had a little bit of a rough time against Rivas. Even though in the end she managed to tire Rivas down. this shows that Sandy needs to be keep in the ring constantly ring dust will overwhelm her. On the other hand i don't think this fight will happen. Why? On one hand Ina's popularity is diminishing very quickly because after her fight with Sandy and then her second fight with Esther, people from Germany are starting to realize that Ina is a paper champion. And Ina can't match Susi, so what will happen is that Ina will retire in 2010. This is why she is fighting Ramona Kuehune in my belief because she is the 2nd top fighter in Ina's weight class Ramona isn't that impressive and she will be another trophy for Ina trophy rack and this will show the German and european people that she is the best while putting a nail in the coffin for her career. You see that Alesia isn't know where in site lol. They have eliminated her lol. However this is just my opinon. |

Menzer-Schouten II was one I maybe should have listed and was a good fight  Kentikian fought Sahin, not Hokmi or Galassi, and Sahin gave a good account of herself while Kentikian looked less than her best. Blair fought Holm but was well of her peak game perhaps out of her best shape and ring rusty. Saccurato went back for a rematch with Mrdjenovich and handled her again, it was not a good year for Mrdjenovich. Ana Julaton ought to have been in my list, and perhaps Kina Malpartida. For next year, watch out for Lindsay Garbatt ... Like Rick, I'd still like to see Menzer rematch Tsagouris, and Tsagouris fight more often. Somebody in Canada, please make Garside-Tsagouris happen! Featherweights should be a red hot group for 2010, with rising stars like Jennifer Barber as well. The Germans want to see Menzer vs Kuehne, of course, but I think Menzer will handle Kuehne without the problems she'd have from the others. |

not making excuses about sandys fight with rivas who was a tough girl but sandy was injured in the first round and wasnt her aggressive self she is still healing and will be back 100% in 2010

Thanx for the new topic. My favorite women's boxing match of 2009 would be the April bout in Indiana between Mary McGee and Kristy Follmar. This is how Jacob Chavez described the final round. "The tenth and final round showed what makes certain fights special and keeps people talking for years to come. The grueling and debilitating exchanges from both fatigued women had fans on their feet throughout the stanza. Both women wanted the win and pushed for it. There was no more boxing or back peddling; it was all toe-to-toe trading. In the end McGee let out a cry and fell to her knees in tears when announced as the winner, and like a true sportsman, Follmar applauded and congratulated her." And that is what it's all about; the spirit of competition. So this gets my vote as the best fight of 2009. I hope to see more of both McGee and Follmar in 2010.

Definetly Todd I agree, we need more Mary Mcgee and Kristy Follmar. However the promoter that made that fight has past. However even though they "oneinamillionboxing" have found a sucesssor, he has not made any matches featuring Mary Mcgee or the other female boxer with that promotion. I do hope he makes a match in 2010 but i guess we will have to wait and see. |

Ronica Jeffries fought Ana Julaton out here in the bay area before they both went pro. Both have skills and were fighting in the amateurs at the same time. I really want to see Ronica and Ana fight as pros but it seems like Ana is more active on the fight scene. I want to see Barber fight someone like Ronica who has skills just to see who really is who in this weight division. Jennifer Barber is trying to stay active her recent fight fell through so i would like her to stay busy also and then the big fight cud be Jennifer Barber vs Ana Julaton 2 newer upcoming fighters.

So i would like to see that fight happen also in the US First Susi K would never fight in America, Universum wouldn't risk it and Regina nor Alesia or Ina have or would do it. More likely Carina would have to go to Germany if the fight were to happen. Second thing is that Carina has just had a lose against not so impressive Mexican fighter. Carina needs to have more fights and find herself because when you dealing with 1 a fighter out of the country you have a 80% chance of losing then 2nd when you fight out of country in a fighters hometown be prepared for humilation, stress and pain |

I agree that Carina needs more fights- she shud have the Wendy Rodriguez rematch. I know Susi will never fight here- there is not enuf money in the world for any of those german girls to fight here in the U.S. Yes Carina lost her last fight. You bring that same fighter from mexico who won here and she would knock her out. Ana Julaton has had a big fight Kelsey Jeffries in San Jose. I was there for that fight and Kelsey cud not get a punch off. Anna won every round with a fighter who had double the number of fights. I was impressed. Jeffries did not control that fight one round. I would like to see Jolene and Carina and I give props for Melissa getting in there with her. Melissa McMorrow vs Wendy Rodriguez may be interesting as well. Someone shud put together Jennifer Barber vs Ana Julaton i would love to see that fight.

First I agree Carina could beat her in the Us but the problem is that if Carina is to fight she needs to learn how not to overdo it and manage. I will not make any excuses for Kelsey Jefferies but i will say this:
1 Kelsey jefferies hadn't fought since 2007
2 Kelsey got sprung up for a title match after fighting who? Jessica mohs of 2008
3 The fight with Kelsey Jefferies and Donna Biggers was there to boast Ana's shrunk ego (no offense)
4 Ana said it herself she was going to retire when she turned 30 yrs old.
5 when she fights better, i will talk better about her.
6 Kelsey after 2007 had become a burned out fighter and she should have retired after Mohs because Kelsey was going to college, i don't know why she fought Ana but she did.
Jennifer Barber vs Ana Jualton i dont think will happen because of weight difference. Ana and Jennifer are on different levels of boxing.
I like Jolene she fighting Carina would be good. Jolene fought to my opinon a draw with her last fight (the korean).
Melissa vs Wendy won't happen because Wendy rodriguez is in to MMA.
