Naturally „Sascha would like to then prepare “with a clear victory the most beautiful birthday gift, in order to then meet in the next WBO WM fight on the world champion Vladimir Klitschko. Eddie Chambers: USA’s next HW champ? “Fast” Eddie Chambers (34-1, 18 KOs), of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is planning a fireworks display on July 4, when he tackles 6’7” behemoth Alexander “Sascha” Dimitrenko (29-0, 19 KOs), of Hamburg, Germany via Krim, Ukraine in an important twelve round WBO heavyweight title elimination bout at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Chambers will also be staking his claim as America’s best heavyweight. Dimitrenko is the top ranked contender in the WBO, while Chambers is number five. The winner could be in line for a shot at Wladimir Klitschko’s heavyweight title. Chambers is making his second trip to Germany in a little over a year, having faced Alexander Povetkin in January 2008. Chambers started fast in that bout, but he uncharacteristically took his foot off the pedal, allowing Povetkin to win the battle of unbeaten contenders. “I don’t see anybody jumping in line to go to Germany to fight any of these undefeated heavyweights, and here I will be fighting my second within a year-and-a-half,” stated Chambers. “I am stepping up to meet the challenge, because when I started this journey, I was never looking to be the champion of a city, state, or country. I want to be heavyweight champion of the world!” Eddie’s journey began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he attended football powerhouse Westinghouse High School. He wanted to play football, but family responsibilities came first after school. As fate would have it, Eddie Sr., was a former boxer, and wanted to teach his son some self-defense. Chambers soon fell in love with boxing, and the rest is history. After a stellar amateur career, Chambers turned pro on December 29, 2000 with a second round knockout over Tyrone Austin. Chambers fought – and won – nine times within the first sixteen months of his pro debut. Most of those bouts took place in the Pittsburgh area. Chambers had his sights set on bigger things, and the family decided to move to a bigger market, the fight town of Philadelphia. “We knew we needed to move our family to Philly, but we had little money, and none of the big promoters wanted to help us,” recalls Eddie. “We ended up getting introduced to [current trainer and manager] Rob Murray Sr. and his son Rob Murray Jr. We met them and we instantly knew that they were our kind of people, humble, hard working, and dedicated. Most of all, they are experienced, and they care about their fighters.” To Rob Murray Sr., the respect is mutual. “Eddie’s father trained him for 31 fights. This is my fifth fight with him. He is the most talented kid I ever had, and I worked with [champions] Bernard Hopkins and Steve Little. His raw talent is something else. He can beat any fighter in the world.” After moving to Philadelphia, Eddie soon developed a following at the famed Blue Horizon. Seventeen straight times, Eddie fought there, and he had his hand raised in victory every time. Once again, Chambers was ready to step up. He signed with promoter Dan Goossen, while still being co-promoted by Rob Murray Jr. and Score America. Eddie was 26-0, and had reached the big time. On February 9, 2007, Chambers won the USBA heavyweight title with an impressive knockout of then-unbeaten Derric Rossy, and earned himself a world ranking. Just three months later, Chambers took a lopsided decision over former contender Dominick Guinn, and then took a decision over former world title challenger Calvin Brock. Eddie was one victory away from a world title shot. Then he faced Alexander Povetkin, and hit the proverbial bump in the road. “I didn’t stay focused,” said Chambers of his performance against Povetkin. “We had that bad fight, and we want to take something positive from it. It was a team loss. We take the wins and losses as a team. We stepped up our game since then, and we improved from that. Now I know what to expect going to Germany, and I am taking that experience as a positive going into this fight.” Indeed, Chambers stepped up in a big way after the Povetkin loss. He went right back to work with a stoppage of tough Raphael Butler just five months later, and followed that with wins over Livin Castillo and Cisse Salif in quick succession. He then entered his biggest fight to date, with former world champion Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter. Sam Peter, a hulking 265 pounds, beat the great James Toney twice, defeated Jameel McCline and Oleg Maskaev in championship fights, and floored Wladimir Klitschko three times in a losing cause back in 2005. Peter’s luster was tarnished somewhat when he was stopped in eight rounds by Vitali Klitschko in his most recent bout leading up to the bout with Eddie Chambers. Even though he was coming off a loss, Sam Peter was still formidable. Chambers knew that he would face pressure all night, and that Peter was looking to make a statement. In that light, it was a curious decision when Peter’s team selected the smaller, yet quick-fisted and hard-to-hit Chambers as the first opponent in his comeback. Chambers kept Peter off balance for the entire fight. It looked like he could have gotten Peter out of there early, but elected to box his way to a decision. He took some unjust criticism for not taking a risk and going for the knockout against Peter. “I agree with them, to a degree,” said Chambers of his critics. “I could have done more. I landed a couple of right hands that had him dazed and worried. I agree with them, but still I beat him. How many people can say that? No question I could have done a lot more, but I am not disappointed. I could have dropped some left hooks and went to his body more, but I’m satisfied with a victory over a guy like that.” Eddie Chambers is one of those rare breed of fighter, averaged sized, but skilled enough to be able to compete and defeat today’s big heavyweights. How does he keep them off? “With speed,” said “Fast” Eddie. “I use in-and-out movement, and make them fight at a pace they are not comfortable with. I make them work, whether on the inside or outside.” Chambers just finished his training camp at Dave Escalet’s gym at the Fernwood Resort in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, not far from Muhammad Ali’s old camp at Deer Lake. “I was in very good shape when I got there, fifteen pounds lighter than usual,” said Chambers. ”I worked with a seven-footer, Marcellus Brown, and Kevin Burnett, who is six-seven. I’m going to be right, better than ever.” Chambers is determined to impress this time around in Germany. Dimitrenko is even bigger than Sam Peter, but Chambers is the more seasoned fighter, and has the better resume. “He’s tall and not a great puncher, but he does have nineteen knockouts, so I have to be careful. He’s a big guy, so I know he will be tough. He is a good boxer, and athletic for a big guy, and he moves well. I have to be in complete control the whole time. I have to keep my hands on him and dominate every round.” In addition to a potential world title shot, also at stake for Eddie is bragging rights to being the best American heavyweight. There is a raging debate going on when discussing who the next American heavyweight champion will be, Chambers or Californian Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola, who is 27-0 with 24 knockouts. Chambers is the consummate boxer, while Arreola is the classic knockout artist. A bout between the two is certainly mouth watering. “I am better than I was a year ago,” stated Chambers. “My ability, my toughness, my talent, and my overall focus are better than they were a year ago. I am well rounded – Chris is a big, tough puncher – but he is not as well rounded.” His trainer, Rob Murray Sr. stated, “We have worked on different things in each fight. We have a plan that is not yet completed. Eddie is still learning, and I am so proud of him. We are looking to destroy Dimitrenko, not just beat him. What better preparation to face the Klitschko brothers. We want to unify the titles and then fight Arreola.” In closing, Eddie stated, “This is a big fight, and there will be a lot of fireworks. Keep following my career.”

Graf won a SD, 96-93, 94-95, 95-94. According to German TV and the booing crowd, Cruz should have won though. Graf was down in the six round and was pretty much saved by the bell.

Alesia Graf and her promoter and team should feel horrible an unbearable shame for this loss to an opponent who wasn't even as active and who hadn't even fought a good opponent. Terri Cruz you have made my 4th of July extremely magical and congrats on putting down Graf. I am so happy that Terri Cruz gave a good fight, I am glad that one of my predictions I made was wrong. Terri Cruz I hope you make a comeback. ;D ;D ;D

Thats stupid, an hopefully Terri won't fall for there setup... However Economically speaking getting paid big especially during a recession well They, terri team might accept the match. but my opinon on this is that if they didn't let Terri win the first time, they won't let the second time. its sad but true. Besides if I was Terri's team i would play this up huge, because its a big deal and things like this happen sometimes to much where someone calls the wrong person a champion and the right person a loser.

Fact that Graf team offered Terry remach means that they admit that Terri was better. However....ZDF didn't broadcasted whole match...only highlights. But i still manage to get this fight somewhere else. Comment is in Polish language, but punches are in International language. Download isn't finished completely, but quick preview give me impression that this was big robbery. If ppl think that Reid was robbed against Halmich.....they should look at this fight. Oh well....final judgement i will get after seeing whole match. I hope uploader will give me permission to publish avi version here. But you will probably have to wait day or two.

if they didn't let Terri win the first time, they won't let the second time. its sad but true. Not necessarily. One fiasco with home decission was enough. If Terri will be better second time as well, they will let her win. They will let her win? Ironically ha? From what i saw in preview, judges should let Terri win already.

Voayer that is easier SAid than actually Done They Universum picked her, Terri and Carolina because they thought they would be easy opponents. Look at who were on the recent cards for Universum and SES boxing, look at there records most of the fighters had not had any fights in 2009 Voayer alot of fighters do those rematches only to end up with 2 losses and some money, its ridiculous. I don't want terri to end up like them. The only way i would take that fight is if they serious disiplined or more likely fired the judges that were in charge of that fight and make sure they never judge a boxing fight as long as live and their families can't do any judging in any sport and they have a 5 thousand dollar fine where you pay 10 thousand to the fighter that was cheated. If you stay hard on them and make them never forget it these things like hometown desicions wouldn't exisit.

Look at this voayer front page of Boxing de:
In German: Zitter-Sieg für Alesia Graf!
Das hatte sich die GBU- und WIBF-Weltmeisterin im Superfliegengewicht anders vorgestellt. Aber Alesia Graf hatte im Vorprogramm in Hamburg mit 38 Jahre alten US-Amerikanerin Terri Lynn Cruz mehr Probleme als ihr lieb waren. '
In English:Trembling victory for Alesia count!
That had differently introduced itself the GBU and WIBF world champion in the superfly weight. But Alesia count had old American Terri Lynn Cruz more problems than it in the interlude in Hamburg with 38 years was dear. ' ______________________________________________________
Nowhere in there Says that Alesia got knocked down, dominated, They Boxing.de, Universum stating they won.. enugh said these guys are crooks, we know, they know it
The house always wins...thats a saying I always heard in Las Vegas..but thats it for me on this subject..
Except I think Ava Knights next fight should be against Terri Cruz? She wants to fight Alesia Graf so fight the opponent that beat Her...

Voayer alot of fighters do those rematches only to end up with 2 losses and some money, its ridiculous. I don't want terri to end up like them. Your way of thinking is just like by little children:"buaaa, i won't play any more!" On your opinion Terri should seed at home and feel pity for her self. On my opinion is much more productive to prepare her self well and kick Alesia's ass again. Or better.....collect sponsors, collect money and lure Alesia in States. And then......o boy....then this b*tch will see with whom she messed last time. Simple fact, IF you want to win in Germany, YOU have to knock out the homer. And EVEN if you KNOCK HER OUT, as Trisha Hill did to Silke whatshername, the Germans will work an angle to take it BACK. So, you have to knock her out and out of the ring, into the second or third row.
I didn't see the entire Graf -Cruz fight, but Graf was on "queer" street for sure. Too bad there wasn't another 15 seconds left in the round.
If Terri goes back there, she better throw for a KO with every punch. Or the germans will do the same thing they always do.
Its pretty pathetic when you had Halmich "stealing" Ws left and right and everybody saying "she's great". Yeah, sure, when you have lunch and dinner with the judges, you have NO advantage, right?
Pathetic sense of sportsmanship...but hey, you get your ass kicked in two world wars, and you get a complex that shows up somewhere else, like the boxing biz. National Twisted Pride BS. Now watch Dee's HOMER ratings legitimize GRAF's win. That too is pathetic. Hey, where's the rubber stamp the promoter made for me?

In germany the winner is already picked before the fight even happens. The promoters own the judges and control the outcome. Halmich was protected for years.

The judging was as follows:
judge: Frank Michael Maass 95-94 | judge: Jesus Morata Garcia 96-93 | judge: Paul Thomas 94-95 (Graf's scores first)
When Alesia Graf lost to Alicia Ashley in 2005 (a home defeat, by the way, so it does happen sometimes...) the judging was:
judge: Heinrich Muehmert 96-94 | judge: Renato Caddeo 94-96 | judge: Paul Thomas 95-96 (Graf's scores first)
Perhaps they should clone Paul Thomas!
Most of the fight is on youtube. Given that Terri Cruz won rounds 5, 6 and 7 (round 6 by a two-point margin?) can there be any justification for the final scoring? Seems to me that Graf has been overrated. And this time, more than a little lucky.
But I don't think comments about Germans losing the war etc., are really the way to go.

SEE, OUR FIGHTERS ALWAYS WIN. SEE, WE ARE FAIR, WE JUST HAVE SUPER-LADIES IN THE RING. YEAH RIGHT. I would NOT change my statement until the scams stop. Why do you think Germans/ German adopted fighters are afraid to leave Germany? Answer; they have NO advantage. Why do you think Germans set up fights like they do? Answer; they're just "great" sportsman?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Go figure. The rest of the world already has. You have to put the "german" in orbit with a 3rd row landing as the goal. It is high time that American boxing promoters realize that everything is going global; therefore, they are going to have to cough up the money to bring German fighters here to prove that the German boxing superiority is the myth that it is; or else, we will continue to see the kind of crap we saw between Terri Cruz and Alesia Graf.

My question is how much money would it take to bring a european fighter to america? If you talk about boxers like Ina Menzer or Susi Kentikian, a lot more than anyone pays in the US, that's for sure. They make at least 50,000 - 60,000 euros per fight; with the low dollar right now that's close to $100,000. However, women's boxing faces a very uncertain future in Germany as well. Universum has just lost its tv partners. Starting next year, there will probably be a lot less female fights on tv.

Say what??? wow you got to be kidding me this is a horrible shock, i mean wow i would have never wished this to happen but truth betold they were among the few germany productions that brodcasted fights next year will definetly be interesting
