Here are two problems I see right know that trouble me and I really want to talk about them and HERE SOME PEOPLES OPINONS.
A lot of boxers are rushing to the titles like theirs no tommorrow, now i am not saying you should fight fighters who are pathetic and build up your record but fight tough opponents the toughest opponents in the 2 to 3 nearest your weight class. And be prepared for the worst.
Another thing that been bothering me was fighters going to German and other coutnries hoping the best but bring something but not their A game..some of the recent fighters over the years who have gone to germany and other countries comeback with beatdowns and losses but when your a boxer or even a boxing fan you know by know their are going to be some home town decisions.
Ava Knight is a upcoming rising power house however looking at some of the comments from Ava Knight vs Kaliesha West here is a comment from WBAn records on ava knight: In a thrilling eight-round bout, West got off to great start as her speed seemed to bother Knight early. As the rounds progressed, Knight gained the momentum by landing the cleaner and harder shots. (This part is good and gives me confidence that this will be a good fight for
In the fifth, a knot began to develop on the left side of Knight’s forehead as the result of a clash of heads. Action was fast and furious, as neither woman wanted a punch to go unanswered. Late in the fight, Knight’s clear edge in power seemed to tilt matters in her favor. Undeterred, West kept coming forward until the close of a great fight fought at an extremely high level. After an action-packed eighth round, both fighters received a standing ovation." West's record fell to 10-1-0 (2 KO's) with the loss.
Alesia Graf is a german banatam weight fighter who needs no introduction. Alesia Grafs last fight shows she has improved and fixed alot of the problems she from the fight before.
I believe Ava Knight should first fight some fighters over in this country or fight Maghelena (Alesia's last opponent)
Ava Knight as you all know just sent a challenge to Alesia Graf...will this be like Sandy Lil tyson vs Ina Menzer?

Magdalena Dahlen 9-2-0 (3 KO) score: 295 Graf vs Knight much more competitive than Graf vs Dahlen, but it would be good for Knight to take an overseas fight before tackling Graf. Knight will be a world champ one day, and Graf might be smart to fight Knight now before she gets much better. I don't know if Marcel still reads here but if not, don't tell him I said that .

The problem is not who should Ava fight but who will fight Ava. Ava has been boxing since she was 13 years old with an extensive amateur background that included national amateur contests. The only way an American fighter can get a fair fight from the Universum set-up "hometown control" is get their fighters out of Germany. Elena Reid and Wendy Rodriguez were robbed of decisions with their fights with Regina Halmich. If an American fighter goes to Germany to fight for Universum, get the money because you are not going to get the win. Let Graf come over here and fight Ava or any of our fighters in this country. The problem with winning a title is if you do not defend that title with in a limited time frame you lose the belt. Ava's problem is she wins a title and now can,t find an opponent to fight her. When she beat West it did not sit well with the promoter because West was one of the promoters future planns. I saw Ava fight in Laughlin a couple of years ago agaist Sharon Gaines and all though Ava has had only 7 fights she is a seasoned fighter with great punching power.

John you really thought this out and I commend you. I agree with you. However this is a problem that only few boxers has been able to solve there is the goal of a female boxer and how far can they reach. Money, and the ability to sell, these problems come into everything from the arts, sports and heck education too. Attracting rich people is another problem as well, few rich people want to put their money in anything that they don't see as profittable and the idea of dad's girl wanting to be a boxer and getting her face pounded into the ground or the emotional and physical abuse would drive some away from boxing. Many men can say that they are good female boxers out there but the idea of someone in there family doing that is the least thing on their mind. People really don't understand sports to be honest with you. If you ever went to school there are some sports you bound to run into which are football, soccer, softball, tennis, baseball, swimming, basketball and Karate. Now mma and boxing aren't really sports you see in school days but maybe around college years you will see it but then again right around that time people end up starting a family and stuff. People don't even get the chance to experiment into sports so they go on with their life thinking they haven't missed anything. If you think about it carefully we are all kind of like reformers and we all what to create the sport of boxing for women at an equal level but we all have different ways of doing it. However I think these ways will show up after London showcases boxing for women in the olympics. However I just hope it doesn't end in controversy.

We can agree that Ava is a likely future world champ and has been very impressive this far. The main reason I suggested she should fight abroad before going for Graf is to get some experience of how you prepare for fighting in a hostile environment that's many time zones away from where you live.
One of the across-the-board "homer advantages" is knowing where you are, being familiar with the arrangements, the crowd, the food, etc. Fighting on the road, with time zone and language issues, is just harder, and we have seen several examples of visiting fighters who turned in a sub-par performance by their own standards in the full glare of a big fight production in Germany. It would be good for Knight to see some of that stuff first hand before she goes against one of her top opponents if possible, no matter how confident she is about fighting in the US. You need to take a lot of your familiar environment with you both physically and mentally to perform at your peak and win on another continent. It just isn't the same deal as fighting on familiar ground.

I believe Ava Knight vs Kaliesha west can become a good trilogy. My friends back in the bush era of 2000-2008 always dreamed of Melinda Cooper vs Elena Reid, we knew that Lalila won't fight some of the people coming after her
Ava Knight has many people she can fight against like: Melinda Cooper (USA) Galina Koleva Ivanova (Bulgaria) - WBC & WIBF champion Zulina Munoz (Mexico) Emanuela Pantani (Italy) - WBA champion Oksana Vasilyeva (Russia) Eun Young Kim (South Korea) Dahianna Santana (DR) - GBU interim champion Shondell Alfred (Guyana) Bettina Garino (Argentina) Pia Mazelanik (Germany) Johana Mendez (USA)
Ava won't be able to fight a lot of fighters in this country which alot of boxers realize. Once you have a foundation which is titles and you have money you can stay and fight as long or even longer than Regina Halmich. Here is to things you can be a road warrior and fight where ever or You can stick to one country at a time fighting the best they have to offer which is something i just came up with inspired by Sarah Pucek. You see she is fighting a little of our best but if i were a promoter i would stick to one country fight there best and let your fame grow. Now some countries you might get run out for beating their fighter to a pulp. Ina Ava's case or any sucessful boxer that is what i would do.

Ava needs to see that their alot of good fighters out their she can learn from and get a run for her money lol

I agree with what you and Jason are saying. Experience in the ring is the best teacher for an active fighter. Fighting outside of the US is great but only if you avoid being lured into the scam that Universum uses for "their fighters". I have been friends with Marischa Sjauw for over 10 years and still stay in contact with her. In Marischa"s last fight against Heidi Hartman (universum fighter)she floored Heidi in the first round and was winning the fight when she received a cut over her eye from a head butt. Thereferee called time and had an assigned doctor check Marischa's head which he agreed for her to continue. Later as the fight was nearing the end another doctor who was not assigned to that fight and was not called in by the referee came in and stopped the fight saying Marischa was not able to continue when Marischa was winning the fight. This is just a sample of the "universum protect your fighter plann" works. I don't want to see Ava or any of our fighters taken in by uiversum thats why I say take the money but know you are not going to win a a universum card. Fighters can't fight unless promoters offer them fights and associations work with promoters to sanction title fights.

TD and everyone here will agree they don't want anyone to be a victim of universum or of hometown trickery and decisions. Promoters like universum no that title commission won't dare cross them. Its just like Ryan of Wiba said once that he wouldn't give up something for an everyday hometown decsion. And judging by the statement and situation economically win most would agree, the ones who don't have jobs but those who want change in boxing would stand up to them but of course that just me flapping. I problably am wrong..lol
